Sale on Bass Farms products at Simple Abundance! 🧼
Have you seen the SB Mowing videos? Spencer, the owner, takes care of yards that have gotten out of control for free (sometimes they're vacant properties) and recently he helped a woman named Debbie. Feel free to deep dive into the several follow-ups since this video but we're here to share the result.
Debbie needed a community to show up and help her. An Uber driver reached out (who also was in a challenging situation) to SB Mowing and because of that initial concern and desire to help, over $400,000 was raised to help this woman. Over 13,000 people donated. That's roughly $30 per person and it changed this woman's life.
This post is simply to say that small acts make a BIG difference. When a lot of people chip in a little, situations change for the better.

Happy Monday! We are open regular hours today and warm nacho cheese has made a return! Also available today are double vanilla muffins, pretzels, limited pepperoni rolls, and lots of chocolate chip cookies! It's Edinburgh Farmers Market day downtown!
Welch's cantaloupes and Busy Bee's scones were getting rave reviews last week!
Rain + heat = good growing for many veggies!
Farmers Market starts at 4pm at 201 W Main Cross St and Joe is back with Oriental Grill for dinner.
Bread, sweets, veggies, fruits, spices, flowers, and more available!

The preservationists. The urbanists. The building huggers. The people who show up to council meetings and actually give a damn.
You are not the norm. Most people don’t know how to look at chaos and envision order. Most can’t view blight as opportunity. Most have never lived in a place that actually improved in their lifetime.
And we can’t keep hoping they’ll suddenly become civic-minded. We can’t keep trying to convince people to show up and care.
We have to start doing the relentless work of making things better.
Not hoping for change. Making it.
Because here’s what happens when you do: The potential that only you weirdos could imagine starts to seem realistic to everyone else. Progress stops feeling impossible and starts feeling expected.
And when things really get good? People will want to associate themselves with your town to boost their own self-image.
That’s when you know you’ve won.

It's Window Wednesday, feline addition! 🐱🌸
Even the cats of downtown enjoy stopping to admire and smell the flowers. This beautiful window planter is at Salon 205 at 205 E Main Cross Street and this pretty kitty thought she could blend right in. We've heard her name is KeKe McGee so be sure to say hello (by meowing, of course) if you see her around!
