🐶 Today’s park forecast for the City of Edgewood:
☀️ 80% chance of tail wags
🎾 Scattered zoomies throughout the afternoon
🦴 Occasional squirrel-related distractions
🦮 Best results when dogs remain leashed
Keeping pups leashed helps everyone enjoy the parks safely — including the dogs who suddenly forget all their training the second they spot “something interesting.” 😄
And remember: if nature calls, please grab the bag and do the honorable thing 💩
Thanks for helping keep our parks clean, friendly, and fun for everyone!

August is just around the corner, and the City of Edgewood is getting geared up for National Night Out (NNO) 2026! For those of you who haven’t heard, NNO is all about connecting with neighbors to build crime prevention awareness, increase neighborhood support in anti-crime programs, strengthen police-community partnerships, and have fun!
This year NNO will be on Tuesday, August 4th. Would you consider hosting a NNO 2026 block party for your neighborhood? You can have a community potluck, a dessert exchange, throw some hot dogs on the barbecue, or go all-out with a bicycle parade or a jump house. The goal is to bring your neighbors together to have a goodbye party for crime as you discuss crime prevention.
Our Edgewood deputies look forward to stopping by each event to talk about what’s happening in your area and getting to know your community better, as well as sharing a hot dog or cookie.
If this sounds like a good time to you (and it is!), you can register at https://www.edgewoodwa.gov/FormCenter/Police-Forms-5/National-Night-Out-47
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call our event coordinator, Sandi, at (253) 798-4960.

Our 6th Community Academy class was awesome! We got to try virtual reality training and run some actual scenarios. (Thank you Fife PD for sharing your new system!) We learned how to breach a door and got hands on with all the gear deputies wear every day - about 30 pounds!

Not every situation is a 911 emergency. Knowing the difference matters.
Three-digit numbers are designed to be easy to remember when you need help. Whether it’s an emergency, mental health support, city services, or finding local resources, using the right number connects you to the right response.
Choosing the right number keeps emergency lines open for true life-threatening situations and crimes in progress, while connecting others to the support they need.

Last night was the 5th class in our 2026 Community Academy. We covered what to do on traffic stops, what happens with DUI’s, and toured the Edgewood precinct. We even tried out the beer goggles! If you missed Community Academy this year, be sure to sign up for 2027!
