that always slips and the pointer never
moves. I am told the bearings are going. Any suggestions of how to make it grip better.

Ready to wash the Sansui Eight.

Pre restoration pics of the bottom of the Sansui Eight.

One more of the Sansui Seven.

Finishing up this Sansui Seven. New electrolytics, relay, 2SA640's to KSA992's, adjustment pots to 25 turn bourns. Clean and polish front face.

Pre-restoration pics of a Sansui Eight. This one has the protection relay, so that will get replaced as well.

My current listening setup. Marantz 4140 Int Amp, stacked Advents, Marantz 6350Q Turntable, Sony TC-K71 cassette deck.

On units with capacitively coupled outputs, I've been using 10 ohm 5W resistors on un-used speaker outputs. Switch to that output before power on/off. The resistor takes the "pop" the speakers normally take during the cap charge up to the mid-voltage. A coiple of examples: Sansui 5000A and Marantz 1060.

A Sansui 890 had an intermittent dial lamp. Found a cracked solder joint. Re-soldered and better than new!

Need to replace the relay from a Kenwood KA-7100 Integrated amp. I think a lot of this is preventable by turning the volume down at power on/off.
I tried cleaning/polishing the bottom contact, but the plated gold is gone.

Magnavox amp tube glow.

Realistic STA-2270 switched out the speaker terminals with pomona mini 5-way binding posts. This was the very first receiver I purchased back in 1986.

New poly caps to replace electrolytics for Marantz HD660 speakers. Leaving the two mylars be.

Ready for some pick-ups after repair!

Just finished these Cerwin Vega V-32 speakers. Needed four new tweeter diaphragms, back panel repair and new 5-way binding posts. These are some rockers!!!

Working on a Marantz 5220 cassette deck. It's missing a function k**b. These are a slighty smaller size and must be rare because I can't find one.
Luckily the black insert is still there, so, I machined a new aluminum slip cover/k**b. I think it turned out pretty darn good.

Marantz 2245 ready for a wash and dry.

Working on a Sunfire 600. All the solder joints were clipped into the solder, bending the leads into the ground plane. 2nd pic shows where an arc occurred and fused the ground plane away.
