During this year’s 57th Annual Meeting in Chicago, the International Association of Movers Young Professionals (IAM-YP) raised over $10,000 for the Alan F. Wohlstetter Scholarship Fund through the YP Social Mixer held at Joe’s Bar. As the sponsor of this great event, Gridiron Forwarding Co., Inc. would like to thank all who attended. We would especially like to thank all of our VIPs (Very Important Partners) that joined us in our VIP Loft on that memorable night. We are pleased to announce the addition of Yogesh Thakker to our team as Commercial Traffic Operations Manager!

A meeting at the 54th Annual International Association of Movers in New Orleans led to a mutual agreement and decision that Mr. Thakker would join our team in December 2016. With an extensive career of over 28 years in international moving, his vast knowledge and expertise will be instrumental in the further development of our continually growing Commercial Division which also encompasses our U.S. State Department business. We are very excited to welcome Yogesh to our team as we look forward to 2017, and many years ahead. He will greatly aid in our mission of keeping Gridiron at the forefront of our industry, proudly serving the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of State, major corporations, and private individuals worldwide.

Prior to joining Gridiron, Yogesh was the founder of 21st Century Relocations Inc. Yogesh holds a Master’s degree in Marketing Management, a Law degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce & Economics.

Our office will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, November 22, 2012, and Friday, November 23, 2012, for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Normal business hours will resume on Monday, November 26, 2012. To all those celebrating, we wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving!!

We are very glad to report that power and internet has been restored at our office, and that our staff has been working diligently this weekend to catch up from the forced office closure last week. We expect to be open tomorrow, Monday, November 5, 2012. I will update accordingly if anything should change, but we are anticipating business as usual tomorrow. Thank you for your concern and well wishes. It was very much appreciated and heartwarming during this tough time.

We are very glad to report that all of our employees are safe from the hurricane and their homes and our office did not sustain any major damage. Unfortunately our office is still closed due to lack of power from Hurricane Sandy, as well as most of our employees’ homes still do not have power. Please bear with us while power is slowly being restored to the area. We hope to have power restored by next week and be fully operational. Those of us that have sporadic access to power and internet are checking our email and responding whenever possible. Cell phone and mobile internet was very spotty but seems to be available more steadily now. Further updates to follow once there are developments.

Due to the impending landfall of Hurricane Sandy in our area, and since our Governor has declared a State of Emergency, our offices will be closed on Monday, October 29, 2012. Major flooding and power outages are expected in the area if the storm lands as forecast. Until the storm passes and we can be sure that our staff and office are safe from Hurricane Sandy, as well as being able to reach our office and confirm we have power, our office may remain closed. We will update as soon as possible, and hope to be fully operational and open on Tuesday. Please bear with us as the situation improves. We will answer all e-mails ASAP.
