The start of a new adventure, autumn edition.

A new chapter of love in black and white.

Not only did we have an amazing time celebrating with this couple a few weeks back in the most enchanting of Ipswich, MA, but going through their gallery and putting this set together was an adventure on its own.

In a world of color, we decided to curate and create a post in black in white. We love how emotive images can become when turned to black and white— the distracting elements fade away, while all that’s left is what brings forth the emotions and moments and mystery tucked beneath the content of an image.

Each of these images speaks to us in their own unique way— various moments throughout the day, scattered across the day and all connected through one love story.

The whole day felt like a dream for us— celebrating all day at the one and only . From the traditional Chinese tea ceremony to plenty of portraits (and outfit changes), dancing into the night with amazing music and soaking in every moment beneath the fireworks… our only regret was not asking them to plan an after party to celebrate into sunrise.

Another year with this adventurous and spontaneous family.

For this year’s family session, we traveled back in time to what was once Douglass College at Rutgers University… aka the place with best general tso’s 🐓 compared to all of the other dining halls at the time.

Besides the mosquitoes, we had an amazing time exploring a part of campus that I hadn’t been to in quite a few years. Felt like nothing much changed on this little corner of RU’s campus.

Solar flares + starry skies… father + son edition.

Last night we were get texts from a friend in Rhode Island saying the sky was dancing with colors. Then we got more texts from others around NJ. We quickly took a peek outside our window in suburban NJ, frantically grabbed some gear and took off to a nearby park, all the while texting local friends about the opportunity.

One of these friends joined us with his son, and were so glad we could make this image possible.

What an incredible opportunity to share these moments with friends.

A few months back when we first met Lauren + Eric on a video call, their only request to us turned out to be perhaps the greatest challenge we’ve ever received from a prospective couple- to photograph and document their day, unhindered by checklists or photo requests or preconceived expectations.

So here you go.

Lauren + Eric, thank you…. For letting our team chase those moments, those emotions, and all the images in between. Thank you for rolling with the punches when the rain forecast sent your beautiful outdoor ceremony on the hillside garden in Ipswich, MA indoors just a few minutes before start time. Thank you for allowing us to be welcomed so graciously by your families.
