āļø if you love RV Life, Durango, and mountain adventures youāre in the right place.
and are in the process of building an expedition rig from a 1967 Airstream. Follow here as the awesomeness unfolds.
Like everything, to each your own!
Hereās the specs since we know this video is going to generate ferocious discussion:
hereās the specs, straight from the owner:
It is powered by an electronic DDEC lll / lV 8V92 TA Detroit, with 550 Hp
The transmission is an Allison HD 4070 seven speed automatic, with double overdrive.
The transfer case is an Oshkosh 55000 heavy duty 2 speed transfer case.
Max. hwy. speed is 68 mph.
Fuel mileage is between 4.5 to 5.5 mpg.
If weāre going full MadMax than yeah, I want one.
But for now? Iād personally prefer something that has a little more maneuverability in those deep woods high mountain dirt roads that we take to get away from it allā¦.
That being said, we can still appreciate the raw power and sheer awesomeness of this rig!!
What do you think?

POV: youāve quit your job, given up your apartment, and bought a 30 year old RV to call home, and itās the FIRST DAY of your new life.
I still remember the feeling that day.
It was the day after my birthday. The sun was shining. The sky blue as can be.
May in SoCal has a vibrant of limitless potential and life.
We walked down to the beach from our apartment on E 2nd Ave and the reality of what we were doing started to really set in.
The day stretched out in front of us.
No commitments. No LA traffic to get to work.
No time cards. No a-hole bosses breathing down your neckā¦
Andā¦
No more salaries. No more predictable income. No roof over our heads.
No more familiar grocery store. No more monotonous familiar routine.
It was all so exciting and also terrifying.
The idea that we could do our own thing and work for ourselves was such a new concept for me.
In the midst of it all, I knew 1 thing.
I was committed. I could see so clearly why so many people stay in a grind they hate simply because itās predictable.
And throwing all of the predictability of your life out the window to go gallivanting around the country in an old RV could be considered insane by some.
And it was and is VERY IMPORTANT not to listen to those people.
The ones who said we were crazy. The ones who didnāt get it.
The point of the story is - youāll always have those ones in your life, AND, you can always find the ones who will cheer you on and say IāM COMING TOO.
Lucky for me, I married one.
Find your people and listen to them āš½

Linds
Not gonna lie, it was worth every penny!
I laugh a little when people complain about the pricing here in Durango because Iām that person who will spend $125/night for a spot I want.
I think the biggest lesson in RV life/travel that comes into play now that we manage a 6-figure RV park, is that every person values different things.
Having travelled to destination hot spots as well as the middle of nowhere, weāve come to understand, rates are completely dependent upon region.
āExclusivityā like this park along the coast of Maine, 30-minutes from Accadia NP, that offers ocean front decks, comes with a higher price tag.
Durango, comes with a higher price tag.
But the I remember the random RV park along the Texas panhandle- Route 66 - with the HUGE rv spaces, a donkey, and the most northeast sunset, and it was only $50-something/night.
So lower cost doesnāt mean it sucks.
Higher cost doesnāt guarantee anything.
Cause, yes, this RV spot was EPIC. The showers were NOT. š¤£
They also charged you for the honey wagon! š©
Still loved it.
We once stayed right along the city limits in New Orleans, which as you can imagine, came with a higher š°.
There was garbage around our site!
And yet, they had hot tubs!
We always look for what we like rather than what we donāt.
As a general manager, Iām getting very practiced at dealing with people who get stuck in what they donāt like and are happy to complain about itā¦.
If you can be miserable while RV-ing and stay mad when you see the red rock views of our park, then I donāt know what to sayā¦.
Let each experience be an experience!
Love the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Iād love to hear some of your most memorable stays in an RV below!

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN!! 2 spiritually woo woo hippies and an old RV.
The year - 2017
The RV? A 1983 Ford Jambo C Class.
The start? Long Beach, CA!
after working for two years at a startup in Long Beach, California, CJ and I decided to take our tax return and buy an RV.
Our first trip with the rig was down to Joshua Tree and it sealed the deal.
We came back from that trip knowing we had made the right decision.
We came back from that trip, knowing that it was time to leave California and hit the road full-time.
Was it scary? YES.
Leaving a fairly decent job and our apartment in favor of full time travel and an attempt to start our own coaching business goes against everything the brain needs to relax.
But we did it anyways.
There are times itās been hard.
But I wouldnāt change it for the world.
Weāve been to almost all 50 states. Dozens of National Parks. Countless cities.
Hundreds of waterfalls, hiking trails, and iconic roadside attractions.
To us, weāre wealthy beyond measure.
Weāve rewritten our life play so many times.
Our jobs, careers, work, identities.
When we started we were young and full of magical thinking.
Nothing turned out how we thought it would - it turned out BETTER.
Every detour or denial was a redirect that led us here.
The biggest lesson? TRUST GOD.
You are always being led.
