Providing support to ALL survivors of domestic violence in La Plata and San Juan (Silverton) counties

We offer a 24-hour hotline staffed by volunteers; bilingual support groups for women and children; court advocacy in criminal court and legal assistance for divorce and child-custody cases through our Bridges of Hope legal project; and education and outreach to the community as well as to middle-school and high-school students. Alternative Horizons' services are free, confidential, and offered in English and Spanish.

What: 6-week Group - Relationships: Self & Others
Who: For those that have navigated relational trauma
Where: On-Line
When: Starts Sunday, July 12th from 8:30-10:30 am

This group focuses on the following themes:
- Review of how trauma impacts one's whole system (physical, mental, emotional & energetic systems)
- Gaslighting: Side effects of being on the receiving end of gaslighting & narcissistic behaviors
- Cycle of abuse, D.A.R.V.O & impact on one's esteem and confidence
- Compassion: What is it & what gets in the way of practicing self-compassion
- Qualities of healthy relationships

Who: Individuals who have navigated relational trauma

What: 6-Week Group Sponsored by Alternative Horizon’s

When: Starts Sunday April 12th from 8:30-10:30 am

Where: On-line via Zoom

Focus: The group will focus on the topic of Boundaries. It will have educational offerings (topics below). The majority of the group will be experiential (opportunity to express one’s self through writing, drawing, doodling, collaging, etc.) and share/process with other group participants as it feels right and safe.

2). Return to trauma basics Part 2, Self-Compassion

3) Relationship Part 1: Exploring Self & Others
