Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a story that hits straight to the heart.
This October, experience the power, resilience, and spirit of Latin America through the lens of Irma — a bold new Colombian film that proves strength isn’t just found in the ring, but in the courage to define your own path.

Irma isn’t just fighting in the ring—she’s fighting a legacy.
She’s caught between a father who once dreamed of boxing, a mother afraid she’ll repeat the same story of pain and failure, and a world that expects her to follow a path she didn’t choose.
But Irma’s fists carry something more significant: the chance to become who she wants to be—or give in to what others decided for her.

IRMA is more than a boxing story.
It’s about identity, defiance, and the quiet strength that drives those who refuse to give up. Watch it now for FREE here https://therokuchannel.roku.com/details/c3b8ba4f0fb459ebbe73dab819c6a53d

Director of Community Engagement & Internships at Assembly Studios Atlanta.

As producers and distributors committed to the growth of the film and television industry in Georgia, Atlanta, and Latin America, it was a privilege to be part of an evening that celebrates those who have transformed the local cinematic landscape. From iconic figures like Spike Lee, Ruby Dee, Burt Reynolds, and Parker Posey, to influential institutions like Tyler Perry Studios, BronzeLens Film Festival, and the Film Office, the gala was a powerful reminder of the talent and passion that make Georgia a creative epicenter.

We congratulate this year’s honorees, including Mary Ann Hughes (Disney ABC Television Group), Oscar-winning actor and filmmaker Ray McKinnon, and the invaluable educational work of the Georgia Film Academy.

Georgia's film legacy runs deep — from the invention of the Phantoscope in Atlanta in 1895 — considered the world’s first practical motion picture projector — to today’s impact of over $4 billion annually in production. Witnessing and contributing to this evolution fills us with pride and renewed commitment.

From Green Brain Lab, we thank Assembly Atlanta and the Atlanta Film Society (IMAGE Film & Video) for a night full of inspiration, meaningful connections, and a celebration of cinema that transforms communities.

Reflections after a powerful session at the Atlanta Film Festival
We had the pleasure of attending an insightful conference on independent distribution with acquisitions executives Cole Harper, LJ Simpson, and Marco Medina at Atlanta’s iconic Theatre.
It was a direct and highly practical conversation that covered:
🔹 What distributors are really looking for
🔹 Where they discover new content
🔹 Best practices for producers seeking distribution
🔹 And an honest look at the current state of the independent market
We walked away with valuable insights, new connections, and —most importantly— a renewed confirmation that we’re on the right path to take our Latin American projects and stories to the next level within the North American audiovisual market.
Thank you to the for creating such essential spaces for learning and collaboration.
At Green Brain Lab, we continue moving forward with purpose — writing the next chapter of independent Latin distribution in the global streamverse.
