Update: Ellie was trapped SAFELY and REUNITED with her mom!

This is how it happens. The first night we get there, they get the scent. Night two we get them. I’m taking this boy I found to New Braunfels but Traci and Katie were refreshing traps. And she’s down by the river next to my trap. Come on Ellie girl. We need a win! ❤️❤️❤️

8:35pm update: He’s been transported with all the love and care. They will hold on to home as long as needed to allow the owners time. Beyond grateful for the wonderful people at Fond Memories in New Braunfels. Sweet dream, big boy. 🌈🐾

7:20pm update: I’m headed to New Braunfels with this sweet boy. They will hold onto him for two days in case the owners wishes differ. Otherwise I’ll cover private cremation with ashes returned. This boy has been groomed recently. I know he was loved, so I’ll love him like my own until we find his people. 🐾❤️‍🩹

I marked the spot where he was found while I waited with him.

Is anyone on the Lost and Found pages for Kendalia/Boerne? Stopped for a pup that’s been hit. He is chipped and I’m waiting for a return call. Male labradoodle, yellow. Kasten and 473. I’m out here with him. I have a photo.

I have loaded him up and I’m trying to wait for a return call from the chip company/owners in case they’d like to say goodbye.

I don’t want to leave him out here, so I’ll take him to Fond Memories in New Braunfels if I can’t connect with someone for him. We have a relationship with them and I will cover the cost.

Tuesday night update: We trapped Ellie tonight and she’s home SAFE!

Nothing from Ellie yet, but she came by yesterday morning, so we’re hopeful she’s about ready for breakfast.. Traci joined me last night so we’ve got both of our 6ft traps out.

I’m getting my steps in with these rascals that aren’t the dog! Super grateful for supportive neighbors in this area that don’t mind us in our cars down the road with the occasional flashlight trot down the road to PSST the cats and fox away! It really is a glamorous life! But I wouldn’t have it any other way! C’mon Ellie girl! 🐾❤️

Rolled into town, someone instantly decided they hated me. But I’ve since bonded with Ellie’s owner over dog traps and missed exits and all of Kerrville Pets Alive, so I’d say I’m still ahead.

But apparently I’m an ambulance chaser and I’ve accidentally killed dogs (definitely never happened) and I’m just in it for the attention and several rescues in town called to warn her about me.

Alex, I’ll take “things that never happened” for $1000.

She was kind enough to warn Ellie’s owner about me…while she was standing next to me, like she wasn’t going to tell me.

I just had to laugh. There’s all kinds of people in this world.

In other news, we’ve got everything set up for Ellie. Had another trapper join us out of San Antonio. It’s always fun meeting/teaming up with other trappers that know what they’re doing. Katie Marie said, it’s funny watching you guys do the exact same things even though you’ve never met.

Thank you, Comfort and Kerrville, for all the love. We’re just here to get this girl home.

I understand people have good intentions but you cannot buy a trap for a dog this size for $150/$200. These come from up north and the freight to get them here is almost as much as the traps. I have removed this persons name because I believe she is trying to help and hopefully has good intentions but multiple traps is not the answer. I’ve seen other posts talking about taking dogs and gathering people to search. This is NOT THE ANSWER. Ellie is not dog friendly. She is in survival mode. This will push her further out or get her hit. She must be trapped by someone with experience. And no trap should ever be left without cameras. That alone is inhumane. Animals will injure themselves in traps if left unattended. I’m 10 mins out….

Update: She did her part and we did ours, trapped safe in less than 48 hours from when we got the call! Elllie is SAFE!

Headed to Comfort,TX to see if we can get Miss Ellie home safe. She was involved in an accident and the other pup didn’t make it. It sounds like other attempts to trap have been unsuccessful. Jessica and Phyllis from AWS Freeman-Fritts Animal Shelter & Clinic reached out to us for help. If you are in the area or see other posts asking people to come look. PLEASE DO NOT go down there. Do not take dogs down there. Do not feed her. Katie, we will see you in a few! 🐾❤️‍🩹

The German Shepherd, Astoria, was pulled by JJP a month or so ago due to her injury.

After everything that’s happened with “MrPuppypaws/Woody” now Maverick, I’ve realized only one of the puppies has been adopted. The other FOUR puppies are still there. Two are on their “at risk “ list.

These dogs deserve the same chance my boy got. 🐾
