Interesting study on creatine use in perimenopause women. 2 key points were the obvious retention of muscle mass as we know loss of muscle as we she is a big contributor to health problems but more importantly was its effects on brain fog as this is one of the most common complaints of women going through this. Interesting was this was a low dose. Contrary to a lot of recent studies showing doses of 10g for cognitive health. A lot of women when they take creatine don’t like how it “bulks and bloats” them. So a low dose of 750mg of creatine, relatively safe and benign supplement could provide support and relief for the common symptom of 🧠 brain fog.

A disrupted circadian rhythm has significant consequences to health. What is a disrupted circadian rhythm: it’s significantly impacted by a disrupted light environment. Particularly during the winter months. We should be exposed to morning sunlight directly in our eyes. Moderste amount of mid day sun in our eyes and all over our body. Reduced exposure to bright light particularly the few hours before bedtime. Change out your light bulbs to at the minimum incandescent bulbs. Even better use circadian rhythm healthy bulbs which can dim to an ember or candlelight setting. Wear blue blockers with an ember or red lense if you are going to view screens at night especially phones and tv’s. Tip: phones can be mitigated by using the red filter. TV’s cannot. Sleep in complete darkness. Use blackout curtains and unplug anything in the room emitting blue light or cover with electrical tape.

Health is so much more than just diet and exercise. And nutrition is about much more than just calories in and calories out. To correct heath issues and bring back balance there has to be an understanding of how the system works and determining how your system is functioning requires data. Then you can make changes rather than just trying to band aid symptoms.
