Bucks County Stained Glass LLC

Yesterday was installation day for this gorgeous church restoration we completed. We also replaced a broken exterior covering.

These windows were originally installed as the building was being built, so they were inserted into the stonework via channels/grooves and then the top of the wall and window casings were completed. This means the windows are wider and longer than the daylight opening, making extraction and installation challenging. Luckily, we love solving these complex problems and finding solutions to older and obscure techniques! It’s aways a great learning experience.

So far, Crafts in the Meadow at Tyler Park Center for the Arts has been delightful! It’s a beautiful weekend full of beautiful people. We are excited about the requests we have received for new shields and we have a ton of inspiration brewing in our heads.

Restorations fill up our benches! This is part a of a church in Philadelphia that we are working on with Castle Studio Stained Glass.

We were looking forward to meeting everyone at the show in Princeton, NJ on Sunday afternoon. However, Art in the Courtyard has been cancelled due to the inclement weather forecast for this weekend. Our last show for this year is Crafts in the Meadow at Tyler State Park, PA next weekend (October 18 & 19). You can still get your tickets in advance for Crafts in the Meadow!

Stained Glass Internship Applications Open

Are you a self-driven and motivated hard worker looking for a lifelong career that you will love and be proud of? Are you interested in trading hard work in exchange for a comprehensive education in traditional stained glass, where you will learn all the skills you need to have a successful career?

If so, you are in luck because Bucks County Stained Glass, LLC is looking to bring on one lucky person to be our intern. Our studio is on the edge of Doylestown in Fountainville, PA.

Traditional architectural stained glass is the type of business that is always in demand; and the number of studios who specialize in this field are few. Many studios have closed over the past handful of years because there was no one to continue them when the owners retired. It is time to teach a younger generation the skills needed to continue this valuable and timeless craft.

Bucks County Stained Glass, LLC is owned and operated by John & Charmaine Marchesi. John is a master stained glass artisan holding degrees in sculpture, glass, and art history. Charmaine has degrees in photography and business management. Together we have the remarkable skillset to teach you how to thrive as a traditional stained glass small business. As our intern you will learn everything you need to know about stained glass from the ground up, along with how to manage your business so you will always have the work load you are happy with (we are currently booked into 2026).

This internship is for two years, 16-24 hours per week minimum, during the week days.

REQUIREMENTS:
-Age 18-25
-Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation that meets state requirements
-Comfortable with hard manual labor
-Comfortable working in hot and cold conditions
-Attention to detail
-Showing up on time
-Passion for art and creativity

After the Doylestown Arts Festival early this month we took a couple days off to relax and destress. We went for walks at the nature center near us, enjoyed time with our “boys” who are our rescued birds, and worked at a slower pace. Now we are back with renewed focus, working on restorations and custom commissions. I will be adding videos to our YouTube channel soon, as well as get back to more regular updates here, so stay tuned!
