The ReThink Fashion Show showcased the talent of the University of Delaware and Delaware State University's Textile Dept. students. They created new sustainable pieces made with items donated to Goodwill. It was such an inspiring event! Many kudos to the designers.

It's important to donate what you don't use vs throwing it out, because you never know what someone needs and how they might be able to use it for different purposes.

Also, shoutout to Kass (in the black) for her head-to-toe Goodwill and secondhand outfit.

The Food Bank of Delaware celebrated the completion of a new rooftop solar array at its Milford facility, an investment in sustainability that will reduce operating costs while helping the organization provide more food and services to Delawareans facing hunger.

Made possible through a $1,017,000 grant from Energize Delaware, the new system features 719 rooftop solar panels and is expected to generate approximately 546,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. The array is projected to offset approximately 60% of the Milford facility’s annual electricity usage, resulting in an estimated $37,342.92 in annual utility savings. Over the life of the system, those savings are expected to exceed $2 million.

As part of our Affordable Multifamily Housing program, George Reed Village in Newark, DE, is the first building in a multi-building project to undergo common-area duct testing.

Duct testing measures how much conditioned air escapes from the heating and cooling ducts. Leaky ducts can waste conditioned air, raising utility bills. Preventing such leaks ensures proper airflow reaches every room, supporting resident comfort and maintaining lower utility costs.

Thanks to the hard work of the project team, all testing passed!

Earlier this month, we attended the Bays to Backyards Summit, which brought communities within the Inland Bays watershed and partners together to share what we've been working on to strengthen resilience, enhance habitat, and steward shared open spaces.

Energize Delaware is honored to collaborate on the Bays to Backyards efforts that the DE Center for the Inland Bays, along with local and state partners, developed. This community engagement program helps tackle ongoing challenges to our watershed. It also fits into our strategic initiatives to support natural climate solutions.

Thank you for having us, Center for the Inland Bays!
