Thank you to the team from O'Toole Scrivo for volunteering with nourish.NJ.

A group of eight team members spent time helping prepare meals for our neighbors, supporting the work that happens every day across our community.

As the need for meals continues to grow, volunteer groups like this one from O'Toole Scrivo help ensure that more people have access to nutritious food and the support they need. Every meal prepared is part of something bigger: building trust, connection, and a pathway toward stability.

We are grateful for your partnership and commitment to giving back, and we look forward to working together again.

On Saturday, May 30, we welcomed 25 teachers from the Morris County Council of Education Associations for a day of service, team building, and community impact at nourish.NJ.

The group spent the morning baking brownies to enjoy and share, then helped package several hundred meals for our neighbors.

Every meal prepared represents more than food. It represents a community coming together to ensure that no one has to face difficult times alone.

We are grateful for the time, energy, and care these educators brought to the day. Their efforts will help provide nutritious meals and support for neighbors across Morris County.

Thank you for choosing to spend your day making a difference.

Today is World Hunger Day.

At nourish.NJ, we know hunger is never just about food. It is connected to housing, healthcare, wages, childcare, transportation, and the rising cost of everyday life. Behind every meal served is a neighbor navigating challenges that are often larger than any one organization can solve alone.

But that does not mean we stop showing up.

Every day, we serve healthy meals in person, building trust and connection with our neighbors while helping them access the support and resources needed to move toward stability.

As the need in our community continues to grow, we remain committed to serving with dignity, compassion, and hope while continuing to advocate for stronger systems and lasting solutions.

No one should have to face hunger alone.

More people are going hungry now than at the height of the pandemic 05/28/2026

Sharing from NPR because this reflects what many organizations like nourish.NJ are seeing firsthand in communities across the country.

Food insecurity is affecting more families now than during the height of the pandemic.

Here in Morris County, we’ve seen that reality reflected in the growing need for meals and support. Behind every number is a person or family navigating rising costs for housing, groceries, healthcare, childcare, and other essentials.

At nourish.NJ, we know hunger is never just about food. That’s why we begin with meals served in person and continue building trust, connection, and pathways toward stability.

Thank you to everyone helping ensure our neighbors do not face difficult moments alone.

A huge thank you to Ort Farms for generously donating nearly 100 pounds of fresh asparagus to nourish.NJ.

With the help of our dedicated kitchen staff and volunteers, the asparagus was cleaned, blanched, prepared, and vacuum sealed for use in meals in the coming days — ensuring our neighbors continue to have access to fresh, nutritious food.

Partnerships like this help us reduce waste, maximize resources, and serve our community with dignity and care. We are grateful for local partners who help make this work possible. 💜
