Catamount Nation, due to Jackson County, N.C.’s continued State of Emergency, Western Carolina Football will play its scheduled home game against Wofford on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 2:30 without spectators.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone that's reached out to us during and after the storm. We were blessed and so thankful. Our little town of Dillsboro is a strong community and will bounce back. Most of the stores are reopening and we will open back up on Saturday 10/5 @ 11am. Please continue praying for our little town and our surrounding neighbors that got hit really hard. Also, my store in Bryson City has reopened. It's open every day from 10-4, Cheddar Box Country Store. Next door to Heavenly Fudge on Everett Street.

This part is for the businesses in Dillsboro. I reached out to the train this morning and as of now no trains are running to Dillsboro. Hopefully will run on the 11th. Will keep y'all posted as soon as I hear anything else.

Hi, everyone. My name is Tracy and I am the owner of Cheddar Box Country Store in Bryson City and also Lazy Bear General Store in Dillsboro. I just wanted to let y'all in on what's been going on in my personal life since May 18th, that's when my mama was admitted to Missions Hospital and on June 15th that's where I lost my best friend. So we might have closed some days or late some days, hope you can understand. Then on July 20th I get a call that my son's father was in a terrible car accident, also was still my husband no matter what situation we were in. Well on July 27th he passed away and we put him to rest on August 4th. So on Monday 5th both locations will be closed, sorry for the inconvenience that has occurred. I will reopen on Tuesday at Cheddar Box Country Store and probably Wednesday for Lazy Bear General Store. I do want to say thank you all that have sent prayers. Hopefully everyone can be understanding and patient with us at this difficult times. Thank you and God Bless

I just want everyone to know that we are open. We might not get there on time, but we've had a death in the family and we are doing our best. My husband and Zack's daddy passed away on Saturday. So please be patient with us. We will be closed on Sunday 8/4 for his funeral. Thank you for understanding.

Just a update on my new store. Cheddar Box Country Store will be opening on Saturday 5/25 @ 10am. It's not completely done, but it's enough to open. Thank you Crystal Braswell-Childress for all the help and support this week. Trust me it's been a emotional week.

Well for the really exciting news. Guess who's coming to Lazy Bear General Store on Friday 12/22 from 11:30 to 12:30? One hint, he's green and grumpy. He's one of my favorites.
