I think I've caught a bug.

Spent time reorganizing my Etsy shop today. Hopefully, it will be easier for you to find what you're looking for. Am making preparations to add a new line of handmade goodies.

Do you ever make gifts for your family and friends? I do, and honestly, it's not because I'm cheap (it's not really less expensive to make a gift than to buy one). It makes me feel like I'm giving them a little piece of me and hopefully it will be more personalized to them. At the very least, I know they won't be getting duplicate gifts! I just hope the recipients enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them.
Most recently, I was into placemats. This first set I made features the beautiful nature photography by Chris Kusik. Wow, this was a real learning experience for me!
The second set is made using a quilt pattern called Lombard Street. Both of these placemat sets ended up taking much longer to make than I anticipated, but the experience was well worth it to me.

Happy New Year to each of you! I hope 2015 will be a year of love, joy and happiness for us all.

It's Earth Day. Do something nice for your planet.

Growing up, I remember watching my dad spend hours repairing appliances and household items to get a few more years of use out of them. He would also create useful tools by repurposing; case in point, he combined a lively lad with a golf club so he could practice his swing while doing yard work. I read that America discarded 11.1 million tons of fabric in 2010. This wound up in our landfills, taking up lots of space and creating methane gas. I am trying to do my part by upcycling and repurposing materials in the items I make for my Etsy shop.

I just posted these three removable collars on my Etsy shop. I'm really excited about venturing into neckwear. The removable collar idea just seems to be a great way to stretch your clothing budget. Hope you all can head over to Etsy and take a look. Let me know what you think.
