The recent bipartisan FAA Reauthorization Bill signed into law last week includes several provisions that are expected to dramatically accelerate the safe integration and growth of the US economy. As the leading provider of digital airspace solutions, Airspace Link is committed to empowering communities nationwide to participate in and benefit from this expansion.
Key elements of the legislation that are particularly exciting for the drone industry include mandated timelines for the to issue rules governing beyond visual line of sight ( ) operations and certification of advanced air mobility vehicles like passenger and air taxis.
Healander, CEO of , commented: "The bipartisan legislation reauthorizes the FAA through Fiscal Year 2028 and requires the FAA to issue a notice of proposed rulemaking for UAS operations BVLOS within four months. The bill also includes a mandate for the FAA to publish a final special rule for operations of powered lift aircraft within seven months, which will help to meaningfully move the Advanced Air Mobility ( ) industry forward. We're well-positioned at Airspace Link to support and enable our state and local partners through this next phase of rapid innovation in , public safety, emergency response, infrastructure inspection, and other applications."
