Detroit Artists Market
We Are Detroit Art. Since 1932 Detroit Artists Market (DAM) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit contemporary art gallery.
We have shown and sold work by the best visual artists in the Detroit area since 1932. We offer a full schedule of exhibitions, gallery talks, special events, and our Elements sales gallery full of original art to collect or give as gifts. DAM is supported through the generosity of our members, patrons, customers, and artists.

We’re Almost There—Help Us Reach Our Goal!
The response to our Flood Recovery Fund has been incredible—thanks to our amazing community, we’ve raised nearly 65% of our goal.
But we’re not there yet. Every dollar gets us closer to securing a temporary home for our exhibitions, gift shop, and programs while we recover from the flood that forced us to close our doors.
If you haven’t donated yet, now is the time to help us cross the finish line. Your support ensures that DAM continues to uplift artists, provide exhibition opportunities, and remain a vital part of our creative community.
Donate today and be part of DAM’s comeback story.
Already donated? Share this message and spread the word. Every share brings us closer to our goal.

Detroit Artists Market Suffers Severe Flood Damage, Reopening Uncertain | The Michigan Chronicle Detroit Artists Market Suffers Severe Flood Damage, Reopening Uncertain

Detroit Artists Market Seeking New Space, Donations Following Flood - Oakland County Times DAM has been a cornerstone of the city’s creative community for 93 years.

A Note to Our Community,
On January 24, our building experienced a significant flood, which caused damage to our facilities and infrastructure. We are working closely with our landlords and insurance providers to assess the full extent of the damage and determine next steps.
We are relieved to share that all artwork from our planned exhibition was returned to the artists, thanks to the swift action of our team. Further, despite the significant damage to our facilities, the majority of the work in storage and our gift shop is undamaged. While our space is temporarily closed, we remain committed to protecting the works entrusted to us and to serving our community.
We appreciate the support and patience of our community during this challenging time. As we navigate the recovery process, we will provide updates on how you can help us rebuild and reopen our doors.
Thank you for your understanding and encouragement—it means the world to us.

DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES DOPE WOMAN IN MEDIA WILL BE POSTPONED

Introducing our Featured Artist: Deb King
Curated by Gary Eleinko
“The vessel is central to my practice, reflecting its cultural significance. My series Otherness explores “otherness” through collapsed porcelain forms, blending sensuous interiors with polished exteriors adorned with Egyptian paste. B(a)roquen reimagines classic vessels with cracks and fragments, meditating on erosion and regeneration. Both series examine how we interact with the world, our responsibilities, and the interconnectedness of life.”
Deb Kings work will be on view along with exhibition DOPE Women in Media
January 24-February 15, 2025!

Introducing the curator of Dope Women In Media: Laura Gibson
📸
“Laura D. Gibson is a visual and lens-based media artist, independent curator, and creative project manager in Detroit, MI. Gibson uses video, audio, and performance to dissect ways of maneuvering the city as a woman of color while documenting and examining the notions of intimacy in reflecting on space and the idea of home. Gibson is the recipient of the Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Emerging Artist Award, Redmond Design Prize, the 2023-2024 Flourish Fund, and the past artist resident and recipient of the “Pay-It-Forward” Grant from the Modern Ancient Brown Foundation.”📽️🎞️
