This year will be Our 19th year of hosting and organizing the annual neighborhood festival and backpack giveaway in my neighborhood of Z8ne.

Two of the greatest accomplishments i have been able to achieve was, one being making my mama proud because of my transformation and the other one was being guided by my transformation to organize the annual backpack giveaway.

Reuben Jonathan Miller is an Associate Professor in the University of Chicago Crown Family School and in the Department of Race, Diaspora and Indigeneity, and a Research Professor at the American Bar Foundation. He was named a 2022 MacArthur Foundation Fellow.

Yesterday, Lauren Hood, Khary Frazier, and i had the honor of being selected to speak on a panel at the U Of M Detroit center in front of over 50 business leaders from Cleveland. We were tasked with discussing community development from a neighborhood level. As native Detroiter's, We each provided a unique perspective based on Our own experiences that have shaped Our approach to community engagement, organizing, and development.

It became clear to many in the audience, after meeting with Detroit's mayor, that We offer a more authentic perspective of Detroit than he does with his illusion of revitalization. Before concluding our talk, a participant jokingly requested that i say a certain word one more time, to which i obliged: "We just need people to give a F**K!"

We will closed from May 1, Wednesday-May 7, Tuesday. We will be back next Wednesday! Enjoy the rest of your week! ✊🏿
