Step into a welcoming and supportive space designed to uplift and empower self-identified African-American women who have experienced sexual assault, along with their supporters. Held weekly, on Wednesdays, at Payne Pulliam Trade School, this healing circle is open to both students and local community residents, providing a space for connection, reflection, and growth.

What to Expect:
• Safe and Supportive Environment: A peer-support group offering encouragement and shared experiences in a confidential, non-clinical setting.
• Community-Focused Healing: Open to attendees of Payne Pulliam Trade School and residents from the surrounding community, creating a diverse and inclusive circle of support.
• Free and Accessible: There is no cost to participate, ensuring that healing resources remain available to all.
Participation Requirements:
• Open to self-identified African-American women who have experienced sexual assault and their supporters.
• Participants must sign a confidentiality agreement before joining to ensure privacy and trust within the group.

Join us as we share our stories, build resilience, and strengthen our community. Healing is possible, and together we soar.

Alleged victim of Metro Detroit high school coach goes public Moriyah Hamell harbored her painful secret for 8 years. Back when she was 16 years old, her basketball coach at River Rouge High School, now 58-year-old Mark White, allegedly sexually assaulted her at his home with his wife and kids just down the hall.

Join us, every Tuesday, in a nurturing and empowering weekly virtual safe space designed to support healing for African-American women who have experienced sexual assault and those who stand alongside them as advocates and supporters.

Whether you’ve experienced sexual assault yourself or are here to provide encouragement and support, this peer-support group is for you.

What to Expect:
• Peer Support, Not Clinical Services: This is a peer group facilitated by trained individuals with shared experiences, providing understanding and encouragement in a non-clinical setting.
• Engaging Topics and Discussions: Each session offers unique topics and perspectives to guide you on your healing journey and build a sense of community and resilience.

Who Can Join:
• Self-identified African-American women who have experienced sexual assault
• Support advocates for African-American women who’ve experienced sexual assault

Discover the power of storytelling, art, and community in this unique weekly healing circle, held every Thursday, designed for African-American, self-identified experiencers of sexual assault and their supporters. Through the exploration of literature and the arts, we create a safe and inspiring space for connection, reflection, and healing.

What to Expect:
• Peer Support, Not Clinical Services: This is a peer-support group facilitated by trained individuals with shared experiences, providing a supportive and creative space in a non-clinical setting.
• Literature and Arts-Focused Discussions: Each session uses literature, poetry, and other art forms to ignite meaningful conversations and foster personal growth.

Who Can Join:
• Self-identified African-American women who have experienced sexual assault
• Support advocates for African-American experiencers of sexual assault
