Design and Planning complete, our Build Process is underway!

Today, we began an Extensive Exterior Repair and Comprehensive Design Re-Imagining of a client’s Stately Residence in Troy.

The project includes Custom Sustainability Upgrades throughout the Structure, as well as a New Exterior Skin with Upgraded Fiber Cement Siding, a New Roofing System with Seamless Gutters, a Complete Exterior Power and Lighting Upgrade, and Regrading some problematic Landscape Beds. All while exceeding their expectations on Design Inspiration, Craftwork, Project Cost, and Construction Timelines.

Looking forward into 2026 we are beyond grateful to be designing and building for a growing Client list in the cities of Troy, Ferndale, Northville, Birmingham, Detroit, and perhaps beyond. 👀

It's been a minute since our last post. 2024 was crazy and wrapped up in a flurry of activity on site, and we have had our heads down, focused on designing and setting up 2025 project builds.

The 10-month wrestling match is nearly at an end. Last few punch list items are rolling in and out.

Removing this beauty from its failing foundations, raising it up + digging down to add taller modern shoes has been a distinct pleasure, at least for those who enjoy a challenge.

It really is all in the frame. Getting diggy with it. Steel can definitely be bent, and Clay is an absolute beast of a material wow.

New Basement and Porches are starting to fully Basement and Porch hard. Hand-built Footings, Foundations, Drainage Systems, Engineered Fill, Radiantly Heated Slab and Porches happening in, on, and around this Home. All for our Courageous, Patient, and Amazing Clients.

This block beauty has replaced a 100+ year old Badly Failing 2-wythe Brick Basement in a Historic Home in Detroit.

We are launching the final Missions Monday, Finishing Builds, making Tweaks, and preparing for the MPE systems incoming over the next few weeks. It's been a marathon but the end is in sight. More soon.

There have been more than 22 Craftsperson's contributing their experience, expertise, talents, and time to this construction event as it continues unfolding daily.

Lift + Demo complete. New Footings + Drain Fields Complete. New Reinforced Foundation Wall Enclosures approaching Completion. Managing the shift of seasons is a Continual, Daily, Navigation and Awareness.

Now Preparing for landing in 3, 2, 1.

I can not thank them enough for their trust, patience, and constant engagement with the full range of our design build process over the last 18 months. A process which is culminating in the creation of technologically modern repairs/rebuilds to major foundation elements that often deteriorate in historic buildings. In this case we dont build them that way anymore, for a reason.
