Our team loves our Eastern Market neighborhood and we love supporting this event through our friends at Design Core Detroit. On this Veterans Day we were thankful to spend time with some true American heroes. Our friends at Volunteers of America Michigan celebrated the tenth anniversary of their Detroit Veterans Housing Program facility and gifted cars to several deserving vets. Thank you to all of our veterans! We are grateful for your service.

Happy Pączki Day! We pre-ordered these healthy snacks from our Eastern Market neighbors at Pietrzyk Pierogi. Your Fat Tuesday will be made better (and fatter?) with a taste of their strawberry jalapeño or custard apricot pistachio pączki.

Because our office is in Detroit’s Eastern Market, we have a neighborhood “sausage guy” (and poultry people, a pierogi lady, a pork chop spot, and a gumbo joint, among others). News came this week that the sausage guy is retiring. His sausage-filled “Old World Sandwiches” at Eastern Market Seafood have been a lunchtime favorite on busy workdays here. We stopped in today to offer congratulations and pick up a couple super-sized “the works” pitas. Delicious, as always. We will miss this lunch option which goes away at the end of this month.

Our wall of hubcaps has been up for about a year and a half. Today was the first time one of them tumbled down. For the car buffs out there, that’s a Hudson hubcap that fell. We’ve made sure it’s now way more secure.

What a night! Eastern Market After Dark was incredible. Thank you to Design Core Detroit for bringing so many great people from around the world into our space. We love coming to work in Eastern Market every day, but a *night* like this was really something else. We hosted the UNESCO Design Cities delegation, then enjoyed the massive party in our neighborhood. Whew!!

We took a long lunchtime walk around our Eastern Market neighborhood to check out all of the amazing artwork being made as part of Murals In The Market... And we only walked through one pile of discarded pig ears along the way.
