Are the BET Awards a celebration of our Art, our Music, our “Culture” anymore? I respect creativity, even if I don’t like it. I understand that the entertainment business is HARD! I know that s*x, decadence, and “shock value” sells. But, the Black Experience and what we are continuing to learn and discover about ourselves and our history: where is the celebration? 👀
How are OUR young women being portrayed? Is the intellect of our Culture being celebrated or even cultivated? I don’t expert a classroom presentation but I am not understanding the burlesque atmosphere.

Well, where is the Celebration?
There are some AMAZING artists on the scene right along with all the legends who opened the doors for them. I would like to see a BET that injects a fitting tribute for them into our Culture.
WE just cannot continue to do it like it’s being done.
