In 2018, three innovative guys from Detroit were discussing the great recording legacy of Helios Audio products and the incredible discography that was created on these consoles back in the 1970s and 1980s. They shared the same vision and passion for remaking these legendary devices and bringing them back to prominence, so people could once again enjoy the richness and warmth of tone which Helios has become known for.

A little history on where the color comes from…

Helios made many custom, one off consoles. From time to time you see red modules pop up from Strawberry Studios. This sage green color came from at least two 3100 series consoles that we’re aware of. One from Barbarossa Studios in Germany and the other Troudheim in Norway.

In honoring Helios’ history, not only the traditional black but other exciting color palates, we simply fell in love with the unique, retro look and committed to it being the face plate of our latest releases.
