I’ve had so much fun decorating everything from huge built ins, mantles, dining rooms, kitchens, bedrooms this week!
We’ve ordered mostly everything from Backbone Home Store, (and sourced anything else locally from fellow small businesses)
Mirrors, lamps, rugs, some furniture, throw pillows, bedding, so much decor.
We have access to SO many items, and are always changing it up in store, but can typically order decor, rugs, lamps, etc and recieve it pretty quickly if you don’t see what you’re needing in store. (220 East Main Festus)
We’ve been booked out pretty far in advance for decorating jobs, but will soon be ready to take on more decorating and staging projects.

This is another one for mental health awareness this month. This particular poem explores the nightmare side effects that can come along with PTSD. The awesome thing about poetry though, is that I can write a poem about a particular topic or struggle, but you can read it and gain a whole different perspective on it. I remember after I first wrote this poem years ago, I read it to a good friend. It brought tears to her eyes, but she identified with what it was saying in a completely different way than I had written it. We were both surprised when we both explained our own meanings to it. And I just think that is absolutely amazing, and shows how powerful poetry and literature can be. It speaks to us all in different ways, based on our own life experiences. 🖤

Good news / bad news department: we’ve accepted an offer on our books and fixtures, and the new owners plan to open their own store in the Twin Cities sometime mid-2023.
That means we are closed down now, a couple weeks sooner than we originally planned. I’ll be around in the coming weeks, if you need anything.

As we wind down our 25th year in business and our lease ends, we've decided to close Books Galore at the end of the year, with an estimated final day of Saturday, December 17th.
We're not selling gift certificates, but will honor previously issued gift certificates and current store credit.
As for business, we've been as busy as ever and believe a bookstore in our area would thrive and hope that someone will want to replace us. We can't thank everyone enough for all of your support, business, and friendship ❤️. Please feel free to share this, and spread the word.
