Is your log in difficult to access place? Is it to large for mobile bandsaw mills or is it just simply to large to move? I do mobile chainsaw milling. Capable of milling up to 48 inch diameter log rite where it sits. Give me a call, shoot me a text or an email. (314)- 484-9950 [email protected]

This poor ash tree. Infested with both EAB and Banded Ash Borer. It didn't stand a chance. However is made for some beautiful slabs.

A couple of the handsome Red Elm slabs I have for sale.

Photos from J & S Wood Products's post 12/16/2021

As the name J&S Wood Products suggests, we started out with the idea of producing more than just live edge slabs. Up to this point slabs is all we have produced for consumer purchase because using a Alaskan mill cutting slabs is what made the most sense. I'm excited to announce the we have most recently purchased a bandsaw mill. With the addition of the bandsaw mill we will also be producing dimensional lumber moving forward.

In additional to dimensional lumber we will be adding mobile milling by Alaskan mill and milling of customer delivered logs with our bandsaw mill at our property near DeSoto Missouri. So for logs too large for the average person to move or logs that are difficult to access with a other types of sawmill we can mill those on your site with the Alaskan mill. It will be based by an hourly rate onsite and a travel rate to the site. Likewise look for in the near future for the bandsaw mill to be mobile milling also but I will make an update when that service becomes available.

No saw dust boogers for me today. Happy and safe milling to all!

Sneak peek at the load of Chinese Elm I picked yesterday and began milling today. Even though I was told by a 30yr tree climber it is Chinese elm I'm not so sure anymore. It has mucilaginous inner bark. So I would lean towards Red Elm. It could be a cross of Red Elm and another Elm species. It's hard to say for sure. One thing I know is it's beautiful.

Photos from J & S Wood Products's post 10/14/2021

Picked up a trailer full of Chinese Elm this evening. I'm not going to fib I'm super excited about it.

I haven't posted a customer finished slab in a long time. Using Red Elm from Urban Logs and repurposed bourbon barrels.

Picked a few nice logs. Walnut, Bradford pear, yellow Poplar, 2 silver maples, Hackberry and a cottonwood. While waiting to get loaded I milled a few 50 inch oak cookies.

Finally got to mill the biggest section of the Hackberry branch. I think they turned out swell.

Photos from J & S Wood Products's post 09/17/2021

I came across this Hackberry branch that was listed as "free for fire wood" (I have nothing against fire wood and smaller branches will be turned to fire wood). Yes I said a branch. It would have been a shame to see parts of such a magnificent tree turned only to firewood. The rest of the tree is almost 5ft across, still standing and in good health. I hope it continues to be in good health for a lot longer. The highest value a tree will ever provide is while it's still alive. Providing habitat, food source, beauty and shade in our Urban environments. That is my dedication at J&S Wood Products and our dedication in the Urban Lumber community. To see that even after a urban trees demise it continues to bring it highest value possible long into the future.

09/05/2021

53-54 inch diameter ,6 inch thick Urban Red Oak. It was a challenge as it's larger than my mill. So some of the cut was without the mill free handing it. I was more than happy to save this Urban log from being turned into fire wood.

08/14/2021

Time to get into this guy.

08/09/2021

I had to opportunity to mill up a couple of these bad boys over the weekend.
