With sadness I would like inform all friends and clients of the death of a most trusted and loved employee of Best Financial Group for 30+ years, Ingrid Mauro. Ingrid passed in her sleep on May 15, 2021. There won’t be a funeral now but a memorial luncheon on July 17th. We are feeling a tremendous loss of a person that was identified with Best Financial Group. If you would like to send cards or attend the memorial, you can contact our office. Ingrid leaves behind three sons and 5 grandsons. There will always be a yearning for her. Many great memories!

IRS to Handle Unemployment Returns,
Don't Amend Returns filed with unemployment benefits prior to the $10,200 exclusion should not be amended. The IRS has indicated it will refigure taxes on these returns and adjust the taxpayer's account accordingly. The IRS will then send any refund amount directly to the taxpayer.
The IRS has not yet communicated a timeline for making adjustments and sending refunds.
Look for an official news release in the coming days:

If you file state returns in states that conform to the federal unemployment exclusion, you may still need to file amended state returns for your affected clients.

“Identity theft can be devastating to small businesses, and the IRS continues to see instances where cybercriminals are targeting these groups to obtain sensitive employee information that can be used to file fake tax returns,” said IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig. “And as tax season approaches, the IRS and the Security Summit partners
continue to warn employers to be on the lookout for emails asking for sensitive W-2 information, a dangerous scheme aimed at payroll and human resource offices. We encourage small businesses and others to follow some important steps to help protect themselves and their
employees.” Please be aware that no one should give information regarding social security numbers nor tax identification numbers even if they say they are from the social security, IRS or your state department of revenue, unemployment, whatever.....don't believe it.
