Last week I took a very impromptu work trip no San Diego! On the beach was this very dapper Yellow Crowned night Heron. Love getting to add a new bird to the life list!

A split-second takeoff turns into a story of motion, color, and connection on the shoreline. Moments like this are why I never put the camera down! Nature always gives you one more surprise if you’re patient enough to wait for it.
