An amazing week of diving, in Cabo Pulmo National Park. As much as I love these photos, they really don't do justice to how beautiful, special and rare of a gem this spot is to dive. The whole Sea of Cortez was once this rich with sea life, now we can only hope that such places can survive and thrive in our future.

It’s always exciting when life wraps around and completes a cycle. Just this fall I had the first completed cycle of my photography career. The little girl that inspired my decision to become a portrait photographer has become a young woman and is graduating from high school this year. Graduation, or the coming of age, is perhaps one of the first life cycles we celebrate and so it is apropos that I got the honor of being this beautiful young lady’s senior portrait photographer. As a portrait photographer multiple aspects must come together to create a great portrait. To which a great extent of a portraits success is the dynamic connection between the photographer and the person they are photographing. The first time I took Marisol’s photo I thought, perhaps I was just lucky and maybe I was, but I took that luck and I built upon it, with knowledge, skill ,vision and a growing passion for the art of photography. Again and again I learn something from the people I conspire to make portraits with. Marisol’s photo reflection is nearly the same as it was twelve years ago, whole hearted, happy, honest, trusting and confident. Every photographer has their favorite portrait moments and there is always magic in a photo reveal but sometimes that magic is powerful enough to change the course of a lifetime or reaffirm that you are on the right course.

My beautiful niece is getting married Sunday

I love weddings and I especially love fun, creative, weddings like Chris and Nick's. Love is captivating and photogenic and It's always an honor to be witness to the celebration of love and marriage as a wedding photographer!

It was my resent pleasure to photograph my niece Ashlee and her fiancee Jonathan at Chatauqua Park during the holidays. It was a beautiful morning shoot, we had a great time hiking around and taking photos. I'm looking forward to shooting their wedding in August at Willow Ridge Manor.

Ogden Family Photos 2012

I found this photo I took of my niece in my archives. She still looks the same, lovely.

Not too long ago a couple of good friends asked me to shoot their wedding. Of course I was honored to be their photographer. At the time I didn’t realize that their request would rekindle my love for photographing weddings. One of the things that I love most about wedding photography is that shooting a wedding is like telling a story. Here are a few of my favorite photos from Anna and Mikey’s wedding story.

Sirin and Mladen have two beautiful girls Katia and Nadia. I had so much fun chasing everyone around capturing all the fun and love that this family has for one another.

I've been looking forward to taking photos of my sweet lil niece Joslyn Marie, since before she was born. Such a sleeping beauty, she captivates everyone who lays eyes upon her.

Another amazing phototshoot with the Dewil family, with fantastic results. Carson's 6 month photo shoot was just as much fun as his older brother Brady's first toddler shoot. It is so much fun to photography both boys and document their individuality as well as their similarities at this age. Although the Dewils' have their hands full with two boys and two dogs their house is full with fun and laughter. It's always a pleasure to join the Dewil family for a morning of family fun and photos.

I loved shooting at the JW Marriot Hotel in Cherry Creek North. A wonderful blend of gorgeous traditional back drops and edgy urban outdoor locations.

The Dewil family has grown by one! Carson Dewil had his one month photo shoot last weekend and he's wasn't camera shy at all. Carson was remarkably wide awake and enjoying all the attention he was getting from Mom, Dad and big brother Brady. Including the family dogs Miller and Jupca, the Dewils are now a family of six and their family portrait is full of love and happiness!

There nothing more precious then the first babies, first photo shoot. To make the occasion even more remarkable, Bell's Grand Mother and Great Grand mother both joined Bell and her mother to bringing together 4 generations of women. Bell was such a joy and the happiness she brings to her family was evident in every photo.

Kelli & Joshua chose an Urban Denver shoot for their engagement photos because that's where Joshua proposed to Kelli. I have to agree that you don't get much more romantic then Christmas lights at Larimar Street or LoDo's Union Station. Everyone was happy with the surprisingly balmy 50 degree December day in Colorado. Sweater weather made it easy for us to all relax and have some fun shooting romantic and fun photos surrounded by the beautiful down town Denver Skyline.

Dewil Family Photos '09 - Evergreen, CO

The Dewil family is the epitome of an active Colorado family. Photo shoots with the Dewils is always so much fun as they include everything they love in their family photos from the family dogs to the family's love of winter mountain sports. This year the Dewils have so much to be celebrating. Brady just turned 2 and got his first pair of skis and Brady will also soon have a little brother or sister to play with.

Stonebrook Manor - Thornton, CO.

Christina and Anthony had a lovely outdoor Colorado June wedding day. Everything was perfect as they exchanged their vows surrounded by their friends and family at Stonebook Manor's lovely garden venue.

The Grange - Denver, CO.

Renee and Patrick's fall wedding is one of the most fun and creative weddings that I've been involved in. Surrounded by their friends and family who traveled from around the country, their wedding was original and authentic right down to the Chicago style pizza that was made by family friends who traveled all the way to Colorado to bring a taste of Chicago to their wedding day.

They say if it rains on your wedding day that it's a sign of good luck. That certainly was the case with Laura and Bill's early May wedding in Denver CO. When I realized it was going to be rainy I had the wedding party bring matching umbrellas and this bride and groom and their wedding party didn't let May showers rain on their special day.

Hutchens Family, City Park Denver

I've been shooting family portraits of Serena and her parent since she was just a few weeks old. From the first moment I met this adorable and captivating child I was under her spell. Each Photo shoot with the Hutchens family has been more fun then the last. An outdoor Fall photo shoot in Denver's beautiful City Park turned out to be the perfect location to capture 3 year old Serena's energetic and charming personality and everyone had a lot of fun.

The Ogden family photo shoot is my favorite kind of shoot, as I also took their wedding photos a few years back. It's exciting to revisit my couples once that they have become parents, as I feel like there is a special connection with these families and it is so much fun to meet their precious new additions.
Five month old Spencer was a blast to work with and those eyes! So blue and so full of personality!

My dear friends the Backstrums just recently welcomed a new addition to their beautiful family. Baby Dylan Grey Backstrum was just a month old the day of his first photo shoot and I'd have to say that he was a natural in front of the camera, he slept right through it.
