What an incredible way to kick off GALympics! 🎉

This morning’s Opening Ceremony was full of energy, creativity, and GALS spirit as our squads proudly introduced their team names and themes ahead of the games starting Thursday. From bold ideas to powerful teamwork, it was a true reflection of the heart of our community.

We were also honored to welcome Senator Michael Bennet, who spent time with our students answering thoughtful questions and engaging in meaningful conversation.

It was a joyful, inspiring morning that showcased exactly what GALS is all about: leadership, connection, and showing up fully as yourself. 💜

Inside the School Where Movement Drives Learning and Leadership 30/04/2026

We’re excited to share that GALS was recently featured on NBC News!

This national spotlight highlights our unique approach to integrating movement into the school day to support student learning, confidence, and leadership development.

We invite our community to watch the segment and see our students and staff in action:

Inside the School Where Movement Drives Learning and Leadership At a Denver middle school, students don’t just sit and listen – they move. By blending physical activity with academics and social-emotional learning, this girls-only school is redefining how learning happens – all while helping students build confidence, strengthen friendships, and develop le...

Our 7th graders spent their day exploring the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum in Colorado Springs!

Students explored the museum through self-guided tours in small groups, diving into powerful stories of perseverance and achievement. They also had the chance to jump into the interactive gallery, trying out virtual sports like archery.

After the tour, students gathered to collaborate on a meaningful activity: creating their own “GALympic pledge,” inspired by the Olympic pledge they experienced in the museum.

Field trips like these bring learning to life, and this one definitely went for gold! ✨

Our March Staff Member of the Month is 6th grade science teacher, Trysten Davis.

Mr. Davis joined us at the beginning of the school year and we are so happy to have him on our team.

“What’s not to like?” He replies when asked what he enjoys about working at GALS. “If I had to choose, I’d say the community aspect—the way students show up for each other and want to see each other succeed.”

Mr. Davis enjoys helping students think critically about the world around them, encouraging our 6th graders to dive past their surface knowledge and extend towards deeper scientific inquiry and discovery.

This remainder of curriculum for the year is dedicated to civil engineering. He looks forward to the students’ learning process of turning an idea into a finished project. This will come to fruition in the design of a model bridge, and incorporate other subjects through budgeting, material acquisition and more.

Outside of GALS, Trysten enjoys coaching soccer, playing with his Aussie Dog and visiting different places in his new state of residence.

Congrats, Trysten!

Our 8th graders used to ride RTD downtown for an unforgettable STEM experience at Coors Field.

They attended the 15th Annual STEM Day, where the Colorado Rockies partnered with Steve Spangler for a pre-game event presented by York Space Systems—complete with exciting experiments and large-scale STEM demonstrations.

And the best part? They stayed to watch the Colorado Rockies take on the San Diego Padres! 🙌
