We love creative content, especially when it's science related.

The animation below represents how proteins move inside of your cells ( ). The thing with the feet is called a motor protein (easy enough to understand).

Basically, you're alive because of these things - and that's pretty neat.

The State is Coming For Your Status Updates 11/12/2015

First and foremost: set aside the fact that it took the Federal Government 5 years to update a Frequently Asked Questions page in regards to social media.

The fact is, they're starting to pay attention, and it could end up costing you.

We saw this start to play out in October here in Colorado, where a Facebook post by a High School Principal was deemed a "political contribution" to a local school board race.

Up next in the not too distant future, some big name brand will get taken to the cleaners because they failed to disclose a piece of paid or promoted content. It's coming.

Don't be shady. If you run contests, or rely upon endorsements as a key component to your social strategy - be transparent. Let your people know!

It's just good business.

The State is Coming For Your Status Updates The U.S. agency updates its FAQ page for endorsement requirements for the first time since 2010.

And You Still Think Social Media is Free, Don't You? 11/09/2015

Question: How many staffers does it take to manage the White House's social media presence?

Answer: 20 ❗️❗️❗️

Yes, 20. That's more people than the number of employees in your entire small business (probably). That's more than the active roster of an NBA franchise (definitely). Heck, that's more than the number of employees in a good number of advertising agencies we've come across.

Here's the point, a lot of small business owners and people in general are still living in a fantasy world of "free social media."

People, It's not free - it's time to acknowledge that fact, and start understanding that you must be investing a portion of your budget (or a portion of your own time) towards social and non-traditional media channels.

Why? Simply put, that's where your customers are. That's where your people are. We think Dan Pfeiffer, Senior Advisor to President Obama, said it nicely at the end of this article:

“Ultimately, what all of this is about is finding ways to communicate with people in a time when media has become so disaggregated that simply communicating through the traditional means is woefully insufficient.”

It's a battle for attention, and newspaper ads just aren't cutting it anymore.

And You Still Think Social Media is Free, Don't You? About 20 aides are dedicated to building a social media presence in the president’s own voice to help develop a more personal rapport on multiple platforms.
