What organic and community informed collaboration looks like...

Thanks to support from Colorado Health Foundation and through an invitation with Street Fraternity a vision of a first ever Peace Warriors Camp on the East Colfax corridor came to life.

We spent the past two days building community, exploring the peace and wisdom we find in nature spaces of that neighborhood, exploring new kinds of art, and learning what it means to be a warrior for peace.

We are planting seeds and providing space for the wisdom and strength of these young people to grow and thrive and help us imagine the world as it could be.

Well that's a wrap on the 2026 Summer of Peace Warrior Camps.

This last week we gathered for our middle school leadership week, with a focus on the power of leading together.

Our circle model (represented in our logo) reminds us that all are teachers, and all are students. We know that true leadership happens in community and with others, and the work we are called to is to cultivate this understanding of shared leadership and shared healing.

Grateful for the wisdom of the youth, the dedication of our adult leaders, and the support of so many that made this years camps such a success.

Today in our circle we learned about and celebrated the life and work of

Joy Harjo (Muscogee Nation) — is a celebrated poet, musician, and author — Joy was the first Native American U.S. Poet Laureate. Her work blends Indigenous storytelling, music, and activism, honoring resilience, cultural survival, and the power of language.
