What if as a society we focused on creating real, authentic, supportive, genuine connections and relationships with each other?

I bet we would feel the need to ‘disconnect’ a lot less.

As people in society we have the chance to vote every day with our actions, thoughts, and dollars.

It’s up to us to create the world we want to live in.

Ive recently been shedding a lot of personal programming and layers that aren’t serving me anymore

Its easy to get caught up in our ways of doing things and become blind to other opportunities or ways of living and acting

We develop an idea of who we are, a program if you will

And we let the program run all aspects of our lives

But life has a funny way of teaching us lessons

And whether its through meditation and silence or through tragedy and trauma we become exposed to alternate ways of thinking

We can’t control what happens in our lives but we can control our actions and reactions towards what happens

And in turn welcome into existence the version of ourselves who we strive to be

This year has presented me with a lot of life lessons and experiences that I never thought I would have to endure

Not that I am ungrateful for what’s been happening

But sometimes its hard to see the deeper meaning, or cause, when you are caught up in the situation

and most things happen for reasons beyond our comprehension

As humans we get used to routine and doing the same things over and over day in and day out

And yet life is not linear; if it was, we would all be exactly the same after high school

Life changes and grows, people change and grow and its nothing to be sad about

The universe is always sending us signs in the form of blessings, gifts, and challenges

And its how we interpret those signs that fills our daily lives with light or darkness

We give labels to certain situations, experiences, and people so that we can feel safe in our heads about who we’ve decided to be and the decisions we make on a daily basis to fulfill the labels that we’ve created for ourselves

Learning to label myself less and just be because it takes ‘me’ to create meaning

Heading back to Denver today after spending two weeks with my mom at her house in the mountains near Asheville

For those of you that don’t know, my mom homeschooled me from 1st through 6th grades

When I was younger, I didn’t always appreciate this because I thought it made me different from other kids and people my age

Now I realize it was the greatest gift she could have given me because it did make me different from society

It’s not always easy to blaze your own trial in life but nothing ever changes without extremists and people who are passionate about alternate lifestyles and influencing society in new and unique ways

Appreciate where you come from, it doesn’t make you who you are, but it does give you perspective on life that you can use to become the best version of yourself and in turn, impact others positively
