“You make the world a better place” — It may be difficult to see how or why, when you have been conditioned to only think in terms of the capitalistic measurement of productivity and value..

But in truth, you are not replaceable.

What is the value of simply existing?

The way I see it, you have a unique set of experiences and lessons learned throughout that are unlike any others.

And that this unique perspective has inherent value; I think you make the world a better place by being here, carrying the wisdom within your experience, even if you only keep it to yourself.

However, I would love to learn from you, and I believe there are many others like me that would as well. If not now, then I hope you will share your lessons with us one day.

“You are an inspiration to others” — I recognize that it may be difficult to see how or why sometimes.

Please allow me to remind you that there are both people that look up to you because they dream to have the life you are currently living, as well as other people that look up to you because they could not have endured the hardships you have faced.

Toxic positivity people only really like talking about the first example.

They may use it to dismiss some of your very real feelings/emotions.

But I see it both ways — the yin and the yang.

You’re not only an inspiration for the your achievements and things you create. You are also an inspiration for enduring and surviving the hardships that you have been dealt.

Remember your roots, part of your story IS where you came from.

But the important part, that everyone wants to see, is what you do with the cards that you have been dealt.

Keep on keeping on, space cadet. We love you, and we are all excited to see what you come up with.

“I appreciate you” — I don’t think anyone says this enough, and It’s not about anything that you’ve done for me.

I appreciate you for simply existing.

For waking up each morning and letting us see your beautiful face.

For enduring your unique set of experiences in this chaotic world, and carrying the various lessons you learned throughout the journey.

I appreciate you for continuing to take care of yourself, so that we are able to share this moment together.

And I appreciate you actively participating in this world — letting us see what you do/create, letting us hear your ideas, letting us get to know who you are.

I also appreciate that you let us share these things about ourselves with you.

Take it easy on yourself, you’re doing a lot better than you give yourself credit for.
