Thanks for stopping by my little creative world. Feel free to share with your friends
Five years ago, I started my own business making custom art pieces for nurseries and kid's rooms. As our family has grown, so has the business and I truly enjoy spending my days investing in both. All transactions are done through my Etsy shop: murraydesignshop.etsy.com -- thanks for stopping by!

Today’s painting. Painted with paints and not my iPad.

Today’s watercolor is a little different- florals painted with realistic Procreate brushes by … it’s a waterless watercolor! These brushes are lovely and create a watercolor effect better than any Procreate brushes I’ve used. But, I don’t think I can give up my actual brush and paint sketches yet.

Put up my yearly fall pumpkin painting today, and started bringing the pie pumpkins in from the garden. I painted this one a few years ago after we found a really pretty pumpkin that we didn’t want to forget.
Happy hopping chickens. My kids really really want chickens... they’ve already picked out names.
Usually our trees are full of bees right now, but sadly we won’t have any blossoms or fruit on our apple tree this year after a hard freeze a couple weeks ago zapped all the little flowers 😢
I really can’t say enough good things about ! It’s not just for digital art, but so many creative classes taught by regular people who are really good at what they do. And you can get a couple free months right now too. This bee animation was a project I did as part of another amazing insect illustration class.

Without 😢I’ve had to start running again. My coral Hokas make it a little happier, so I drew them. I don’t run very fast and I have no plan for this, but I love the fresh air and time alone. A few miles a day have added up to 62 quarantine miles so far!

Nobody has their own workspace in our house anymore, and the piles of homework and crafts and projects and books just keep growing on every single surface...so I made my to show a happy pretend workspace filled with a few of my favorites. A plant, my paints, Sudoku, coffee, a sweet treat, real mail, and Catan Junior. Have you played it? I love a game that kids and grown ups can both enjoy.

In February I was given a jar of sourdough starter from a dear first grader’s science fair project and instructions about feeding it daily, like a new pet that would live in my pantry. And now it has become a Murray family addiction... dozens upon dozens of loaves. Really it’s a great quarantine food— 3 simple ingredients (sometimes we throw in wheat and flax seed) and feels like an authentic, old world way to make bread. Since then, we’ve given away 4 of our own starter jars to spread the sourdough ❤️(and because I cannot bring myself to throw away the discard).
