Hello Everyone!

You must be wondering where will I get my protein if I go plant-based. Good News! There is PLENTY of protein on a plant- based diet. For example, there is 8.2 grams of protein in 1 cup of green peas, 14.3 grams of protein in ½ cup of soybeans, and 2 tablespoons of peanut butter has 7.8 grams of protein. I could go on and on and also include delicious recipes.

The even better news is that none of it is ladened with the harmful fat and cholesterol of the meat and dairy based diet which has been linked to Heart Disease, Diabetes and many more non-Communicable Diseases including antimicrobial resistance, and depression caused by ingesting cortisol – the fear hormone in animals brutally raised and slaughtered. Some human depressions from this are severe enough to cause su***de.

American Heart Association recommends Plant-Based Protein over animal protein!

Updated American Heart Association guidelines for improving cardiovascular health recommend prioritizing plant-based proteins (such as legumes and nuts) over meat and replacing dairy and saturated animal fats with plant based unsaturated fats. They also emphasize adopting a high-fiber, low cholesterol diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and minimally processed foods, while limiting added sugar, salt, and alcohol.

United Nations World Health Organization International Agency for Research on Cancer stated that processed meat is “carcinogenic to humans and has sufficient evidence that is a cause of colorectal cancer”. Twenty-two experts from ten countries assessed more than 800 epidemiological studies.

“The experts highlighted a meta-analysis that concluded each 50 gram portion of processed meat (about one hot dog) eaten daily increases the relative risk of colorectal cancer by 18%.

Eating beans reduces risk of colorectal cancer, according to “Legume intake and cancer risk in a network of case – control studies.”

Food has three categories: Protein, Carbohydrates, and Fat. All three are essential for life. The human body also requires vitamins, minerals and fiber for optimal health. The Whole Food Plant based diet contains all of these without the unnecessary and harmful additional fat, cholesterol, hormones, antibiotics, and cortisol found in meat and dairy.
