I heard my favorite George Jones related story (on the radio, as told by Mike Judge’s Tales From the Tour Bus) so I thought I’d share it with yall

So George skipped one of his concerts once as he was known to do. And he decided that he needed a new Chevy pickup so he went and bought one. After buying his truck he passed by a hitchhiker and picked him up. He asks the guy where he was going and he says “4 miles” so George drives him out. After about 4 miles he asks where to and the guy says “4 miles”. So George drives some more. After a while he asks the guy where he needed to be dropped off the guy says “4 miles”. Well they had already been about 10 miles so George explains this to the guy. The guy takes out his dip and slowly tells him where he needs to go......Fort Myers.

So George gets tickled and just decides to drive him on to fort Myers. When he gets there he asks the guy if he has any money and of course he doesn’t. So George takes a twenty out for gas and gives the guy the rest of the cash he had on him.

Roughly $25,000.

Now you tell me. Who’s gonna fill their shoes?
