This Philadelphia Comb Back Windsor design that I recently completed is a 1760 replica found in a reference book of Early American Windsor chairs. I will be offering it for sale soon on my website and will have it on hand at Lilyfest, the summer event in Hocking Hills that I attend every year. LilyFest will be held July 10, 11, 12. This lovely couple spent 5 days with me in the shop last week, building a Windsor rocking chair. They fabricated all their chair parts from raw material using strictly hand planes and various other hand tools. On Friday, after a lot of hard work and fun, they left with their very own rocker. AJ and his wife, Rhonda came from Kentucky to build a sack back Windsor the week of June 9. Rhonda explored Delaware while AJ and I worked all week building his chair. He did a fine job and learned a lot of techniques for chair building.

Our classes are for anyone who wants to learn a little about woodworking. Over the course of five days students build a Windsor chair from scratch - we start with splitting wood from a log and move through the steps to create a family heirloom. A few photos (in various stages) of six chairs ordered by a Johnstown customer. The chairs were completed in January and now look great around the table (the table was made by the customer for his daughter).
