This week, we are pleased to welcome Donna Whitten, President of the Spirit of America Festival, as our guest speaker.

Donna has served as President of the Spirit of America Festival since January 2017, providing nearly a decade of leadership and dedication to one of our community's most cherished Independence Day traditions. We look forward to hearing Donna share insights about the festival's impact, its continued success, and what we can expect for this year's celebration.

Thank you for being part of Rotary and for the service you provide to our community. I encourage everyone to join us for what promises to be an informative and engaging program.

See you Wednesday morning for breakfast & fellowship!

Volunteer Oppurtunity!!

CAPNA 2026 Block Makeover - June 8th - 11th, 2026

Each year Community Action Partnership has a block makeover event called Neighborworks Week where they "adopt" 1-2 blocks to help families freshen the exterior of their homes. They usually tackle the following type of projects during this week long event: pressure-washing, painting, landscaping, tree trimming (lower branches), general clean-up and minor repairs/carpentry.

Volunteers will be needed Monday through Thursday, June 8th - 11th from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.

You can volunteer for a few hours or all day.....whatever your schedule will allow. Lunch, snacks and water will be provided each day. All needed supplies/equipment will be provided.

CAPNA is committed to building stronger neighborhoods -- one project, one helping hand at a time! I hope you'll join me for this opportunity to serve our community!

Keith Jackson Leadership joined us this morning as our guest speaker. It was a great morning filled with motivation, inspiration, and practical leadership insights.
One message that especially resonated with our group was the importance of being "lifters" rather than "leaners”people who lift others up, add value, and make a positive impact wherever they go.
Thank you, Keith, for sharing your wisdom and encouraging us to lead with purpose. It's a message we'll carry with us throughout the week and beyond.

Weekly Meeting Recap - May 20th, 2026

What a fun morning! We kicked things off listening to "Everyday People" and Cindy Anderson’s Moment of Reflection had us laughing and thinking at once, reminding everyone to surround yourself with people who let you be your authentic self (“if people are like cilantro to you, don’t hang out with them”, be the sun, not the salt).

Breakfast was courtesy of Hansen & Beck, Alex and Robin Head Williams celebrated their one‑year anniversary!

Our guest, D. Andrew “Andy” Scott, U.S. Forest Service took us on a tour of William B. Bankhead National Forest - from the Sipsey Wilderness and its rare glades, wetlands, and caves to the forest restoration work bringing native species back, the 3,336 miles of streams, and the surprising fact that Bankhead shelters more threatened and endangered species than most protected forests.

Andy’s passion for water, wildlife, and trails had everyone picturing primitive campsites, birding routes, and redesigned bridges at Sipsey and Thompson Creek - perfect fodder for weekend adventures and community support. All in all: music, meaning, a little cilantro wisdom, and a big dose of nature‑powered inspiration.
