Considering getting into the realm of school photography services here in the Decatur/Hartselle/Athens area.

If you know a school that's looking for a new photographer to come in and photograph all the students and offer prints and packages etc, let me know!

Good Monday morning from Nashville Tennessee! We love coming up here every now and then to visit the hotel and do Soundwaves. Always a fun experience and highly recommended for a quick get away.

Another wild story, I was trying to get into the park to see the fireworks tonight, and the police were directing traffic into the Point Mallard Chapel area. I have never seen that in all my years coming out there.... so I went with the flow and pulled into the chapel parking area.

We sat there for a couple minutes so I got out to go see what was going on and it was big ol' mud pit just past the pavement. The truck driver didn't want to risk going out and getting stuck since it was a 2WD.

This caused a big back up and pretty much became an every man for himself situation. I put my car in park and hopped out with my camera and tripod and just sat up right on the edge of the pavement.

You can see how muddy it was. I woudln't have driven out in that either. lol

Took almost 20 minutes to get out of that tiny chapel parking lot. Thankfully the folks were driving with precision because we were all crammed in there side by side and at all angles. It was nuts!

This is the panoramic photo I captured with Insta360 X5. Swipe to view it from different angles. Check it out! 07/05/2026

What a crazy night at point mallard for the spirit of America festival. I had captured a 360 shot as the storm was coming in from the West. Check it out. It was mass chaos and panic after that.

Happy 4th of July!

Back in March 2020 when the pandemic hit, my favorite photography conference was postponed. By the time June rolled around and we realized covid wasn't a big deal, I started planning my own local photography conference. In July 2020 it happened. We had a good turnout of models and photographers. For 4 or 5 hours we talked shop, discussed lighting techniques, and played around on Bank Street and ended up at Rhodes Ferry at dusk.

One of the photographers who attended was Amanda, and well, here we are 6 years later. Normally we're out of town this time of year enjoying stuff out West, but we stuck around here this year. As a result, figured it be a great time to go down to the place were it all started for us!

Ya'll be safe out there today! Who am I going to see at Point Mallard later this afternoon?? Say hi if you see me! We'll be covering the fireworks show tonight.
