Yesterday I taught a Baby Basics class and we had a great afternoon discussing and understanding what to expect during the first month of life with a newborn. Some women are pregnant and a couple have delivered. It was so much fun to be able to teach tummy time with my little assistant on the left- She showed everyone how strong and smart babies are! They just need our support to help them grow and develop. If you need help navigating pregnancy and breastfeeding, support is available at Wonderlove Lactation. Home visits, office visits, a free support group on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month along with small group classes like Baby Basics and Accessible Breastfeeding classes for women and their babies are available. You can learn more at Wonderlovelactation.com or call/text (404)449-5595. I am in network with Aetna insurance. Getting help early helps you reach your goals for feeding and understanding your baby

Human breast milk is the most important first food for all human babies! It is a living, healing substance that is unlike no other and made specifically for babies. Human milk is always a complete meal and perfectly balanced nutrition no matter what mom eats.
Today is World Day of Human Milk Donation, and we're joining milk banks and advocates around the world in saying thank you.
Every ounce donated to a nonprofit human milk bank can make a life-changing difference for a premature or medically vulnerable baby. At Baby-Friendly USA, we uphold guidelines that recognize pasteurized donor human milk as the first-choice option whenever possible, when a baby needs supplementation and mother's own milk isn't available.
To every person who has shared their milk with a baby they've never met: Today we honor that precious gift.
