Governor's Ridge Retirement & Assisted Living

Today was all about spending time with friends and making memories! From having some fun with sunflowers to enjoying a delicious lunch at one of our residents’ favorite spots, Western Egg, the day was filled with good food and even better company.

We wrapped up the afternoon with a relaxing Barista Social, sharing stories, laughing together, and reminiscing about days gone by. Another wonderful day spent together!

Busy day, but a GREAT one! Our day started with an outing to the Senior Center for a few fun games of Bingo, followed by a festive Fall craft and plenty of creativity. We wrapped things up with the help of Tracie Warnick for a few exciting rounds of Balloon Volleyball where everyone’s true competitive sides came out!

With nonstop laughter filling the room, it was definitely a day full of fun, friendship, and great memories!

What a Wonderful Tuesday!

We started the day with a meaningful Bible Study in the Book of John, filled with great conversation, reflection, and fellowship. Then it was time for another lively Sittersize class—where the laughter seemed to be just as much of a workout as the movement!

To wind down, residents kicked back with some popcorn and a good movie, 9 to 5 starring the late, great Dolly Parton.

A wonderful way to wrap up a busy day as we get excited for the first day of Fall and all the sunshine, cooler temperatures, and outdoor activities ahead!

Residents started the week with our weekly trip to Walmart, followed by a refreshing ice cream social to cool off with some delicious cold treats and conversation. Then we wrapped up the afternoon with the help of Tracie Warnick for a
little friendly competition and lots of laughs during a fun game of Family Feud!

A busy Monday filled with good company, sweet treats, laughter, and plenty of fun! What a great way to start the week!

What a great Friday and perfect ending to a wonderful National Assisted Living Week!

Residents stayed busy with a little movement during our walking group, then headed into the activity room to get creative alongside some new faces while working on a cute Fall craft. Between the laughter, encouragement, and great conversations, the room was filled with such a wonderful energy!

And, of course, we couldn’t end Friday without the best part—BINGO!

What a wonderful day and an even more wonderful week celebrating our amazing residents, new friendships, and all the special moments that make this community so much fun!

Another wonderful day celebrating National Assisted Living Week. From starting the morning with a special visit from two of the sweetest and most gentle therapy dogs our residents have ever met, to enjoying a delicious lunch at Olive Garden, it was a day filled with smiles, connection, and new friendships.

Lunch was the perfect opportunity to welcome our newest residents and take some time to get to know one another over a good meal and great conversation. What a wonderful day—from therapy dogs in the morning to good food and new friendships in the afternoon!

Assisted Living Week has brought so many wonderful treats for our staff and residents! 💙

Today, Cornerstone Caregiving, Angels HH, and Stagecoach teamed up to bring the Bubble & Pop Truck to Governor’s Ridge for our staff and residents! 🫧🥤 It was the perfect treat on another hot September day!

Yesterday, Solaris provided us with a parfait bar and it was such a refreshing treat for our staff! We value your support, partnership, and friendship as well! Thank you doesn't say enough!

What a busy, fun-filled day celebrating National Assisted Living Week!

From creating beautiful Fall hearts to hang, taking an afternoon walk together, to most excitingly, the as-per-usual amazing performance from Concho Hearts Hospice Pilot Point/Denton, Sherman,& Decatur & Goin Music(plus delicious Rootbeer floats), today’s Assisted Living celebration was exactly what it was hoped to be! What an amazing reminder of how special our residents and staff are!

A very special thank you to Solaris Hospice for thinking of our wonderful staff and treating them to a delicious yogurt parfait bar to thank them for all they do every day as well!

From top to bottom, it was an absolutely fantastic day celebrating the people who make every day so special—our amazing residents and staff!

A full day filled with faith, fun & friendship! We started the morning with Bible Study, followed by a packed Sittersize class that had everyone moving! After working up a thirst, residents were treated to a refreshing Tea Bar, thanks to Clearsky Rehab.

It was the perfect way to cool down, relax, and enjoy some delicious tea with friends. What a wonderful day together!

We kicked off the very first day of this year’s National Assisted Living Week together by staying busy and officially beating those Monday blues! After a much-needed weekly trip out for supplies, we enjoyed a wonderful visit from Steve Layne, who kept us entertained with some wonderful music, as always.

Then came an afternoon filled with beautiful jewelry, laughter, and one of our favorite activities—looking through old photographs and reminiscing together! So many wonderful stories were shared as residents laughed about the olden days and remembered special moments from years past that helped shape them into who they are today. Many are already excited to find even more pictures to share!

It was the perfect way to celebrate this year’s theme, “Shining Through the Years.” Our residents have certainly collected a lifetime of memories, stories, and moments worth celebrating, and we can’t wait to continue honoring them throughout the rest of the week
