Friday was a busy one at Governors Ridge but definitely filled with fun! Our residents kicked things off with a delicious lunch outing to Cracker Barrel, enjoying great food, conversation, and even better company.

Then came everyone’s favorite part of Friday—BINGO! This week’s pirate theme made it extra fun, with residents and staff showing off their creative pirate accessories and outfit pieces throughout the afternoon. From laughs to lucky Bingo calls, it was the perfect way to wrap up the week!

We’re already looking forward to next week’s themes, activities, and more fun together!

Every day is a great day for an Ice Cream & Popsicle Social! After a much needed outing to Walmart, our residents cooled down with some frozen sweet treats, great conversation, and plenty of laughter. The perfect way to relax, catch up with friends, and enjoy a little summertime sweetness.

We kicked off yesterday with the return of one of our residents’ favorite entertainers, Terry Lakes, who wowed everyone with his incredible talent—playing the piano, singing, and even switching to the harmonica!

The laughter continued during a lively game of 10-Second Questions, complete with our infamous answer buzzers that kept everyone smiling. We wrapped up the day with a summer craft, creating beautiful seashell and wooden arrow decorations to display outside residents’ doors or in their rooms.

From music and games to creativity and countless laughs, it was another wonderful day making memories together!

Faith, fun, and creativity made for a wonderful day at Governors Ridge. Our residents started the morning with an uplifting Bible Study as we continued our journey through the Book of John. Next, everyone enjoyed a light and energizing Sittersize class, getting their bodies moving while sharing plenty of laughter. Residents wrapped up the day by unleashing their creativity with colorful sand art, creating beautiful keepsakes as unique as each resident.

It was a day full of fellowship, movement, imagination, and joyful moments shared together!

There’s no better way to beat the Monday blues than with laughter, creativity, and friends!

Our residents had a blast getting ready for this Friday’s Pirate Theme Day by designing their own unique pirate eye patches. From sparkling rhinestones and colorful ribbons to fun coordinating accessories, every creation was one of a kind!

The room was filled with smiles, laughter, and playful competition as everyone proudly showed off their masterpieces and joked about who would have the best pirate look on Friday. We can’t wait to see everyone’s creative designs on Friday!

What a fantastic Friday filled with laughter, music, and plenty of fun!

This week’s dress-up theme was Tacky Tourists, and our residents and staff truly embraced the challenge! From f***y packs, flower leis, and outrageous hats to sandals with socks and wild shoes, everyone showed off their creativity and had an amazing time together.

The fun didn’t stop there! We were also treated to another wonderful performance by the talented Josh Lightfoot, who had everyone smiling and singing along with his guitar, harmonica, and incredible vocals. As an extra special surprise, Josh’s wonderful wife joined him today, adding the beautiful sound of the banjo to the performance. Together, they made the afternoon even more memorable!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and helped make today another joyful celebration of friendship, laughter, and great entertainment. We can’t wait to see what next week’s fun has in store!

Our residents had a wonderful time painting and decorating beautiful wooden jewelry boxes today, each one as unique as the artist behind it.

One of the best parts of the day was looking around the room and seeing so many smiling faces wearing yellow for Yellow Thursday! It made our crafting time even brighter as friends gathered to create, laugh, and enjoy each other’s company.

Nothing brings people together quite like a few rounds of Bingo! Our residents enjoyed some friendly competition while beating the heat indoors, sharing laughs, and welcoming a few of our newest residents to the fun. It was wonderful to see new friendships beginning and familiar faces making everyone feel right at home. Days like these remind us that it’s not just about the game—it’s about the connections we create along the way.

Our morning began with our continued Bible Study in the book of John, filled with meaningful discussion and fellowship. We then got moving with a light Sittersize session, and since it’s Tuesday-Bluesday, it was extra fun seeing some of our newest residents showing off their favorite blue outfits and accessories!

We wrapped up the day with our weekly shopping trip, giving residents the opportunity to replenish personal supplies and pick up a few favorite items.

Beating the heat isn’t so bad when the day is filled with faith, friendship, laughter & a little movement!

It may have been a Monday with 100°+ temperatures outside, but we kept the fun going inside! A few rounds of our residents’ favorite pastime—BINGO—followed by a sweet frozen treat made for the best way to beat the heat!
