What a great day with the team at Cook’s Pest Control!

We spent our time together digging into three things that shape how leaders show up every day: DISC Personalities, Blind Spots, and Emotional Intelligence.

A few takeaways that stuck with the room:

⭐️Purpose trumps personality. Knowing your DISC style matters, but great teams are built when people move in each other’s direction.

⭐️React → Respond → Recover → Reputation. How we handle pressure, conflict, and plans going sideways is what people remember.

⭐️Be a thermostat, not a thermometer. Tools like HALT and box breathing help us set the temperature instead of just reflecting it.

“You don’t rise to the occasion, you sink to the level of your training.” Thank you, Cook’s, for investing in your people and showing up ready to grow!

It’s easy to give up when something feels out of reach. But 'impossible’ often just means 'not yet’. Give it time and keep showing up!

Leadership development in action! Encouraged by the time spent with City of Priceville leaders discussing the heart of leadership: influence that leads to mission accomplishment.

Enjoyed a great round of golf with Brandon Oaks, Todd Alexander, and Ryan Parks.

It was a great week spent with Lockheed Martin Leaders. Some of the topics we explored included how culture, unwritten norms, and inherited assumptions can quietly shape what teams believe is possible. Participants left better equipped to spot these patterns, and are already applying that thinking to real, high-impact work.

We had an incredible time with City of Decatur leaders! Each department took turns introducing themselves and sharing what they do, giving everyone a chance to gain a deeper understanding of the day-to-day work happening in departments beyond their own. What an honor to play a small part in our city’s growth.
