Be prepared for an active and potentially dangerous weather day from start to finish.
β° Early Morning (4-5 AM):
Storms move in to start the day, followed by on-and-off showers and storms through the afternoon.
β οΈ Severe Threat-ALL hazards possible:
π§οΈ Heavy rain up to 2.74" β flooding in low-lying & urban areas
π¨ Winds 40β45 mph, gusts up to 60β70 mph β tree damage & power outages
βοΈ Storms could become severe at any point
πͺοΈ Evening Tornado Potential:
This will depend on how the day plays out:
β‘οΈ Less rain + more sunshine = higher tornado risk
β‘οΈ Tornadoes, if they develop, could be strong (up to EF-3)

Uncertainty remains, so treat this as an ACTIVE threat all day.

Announcement from the Whitmore Township Tax Assessor:
π₯ Annual Prescribed Burn of the Oakley Sediment Basin March 23/23, 2026 π₯
βThe City of Decatur will be conducting our annual prescribed burn on either March 23, 2026 or March 24, 2026, at the Oakley Sediment Basin. This burn will be conducted by certified and experienced individuals in the safest manner possible. Local fire agencies will be notified. The burn will start late morning and end in the afternoon.
