Had the opportunity today to attend the Jefferson County Community Resource Summit put together by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. It consisted of all walks of resources provided within our county to help those in need. I saw churches, schools, food pantries, mental health professionals, our local health department and many, many more. It was incredible to have the opportunity to partner and network with folks for one common cause. This is a huge, collective effort to bridge gaps and open doors and unite our community. Kudos to the organizers and Dennis Gannon, County Executive, for recognizing and supporting this need.

We have a few debts to collect and a few bills to pay, but how does a $20,000 charity fundraiser sound to you all?!? Because that’s about what we raised this past Saturday, including our sponsors donations!

Time to make a difference!

Thank you to every single participant who showed us some love at Trivia Night and all those who volunteered or sent a check. Every person makes a difference.

And if you need evidence, try this on: 2 days after our event I met with a mom who’s child was admitted to a healthcare facility because the child had written multiple suicide notes to be delivered. Fortunately mom had discovered what was taking place. I was able to hand her money for gas and food. The family will have to take time off work and travel 4 hours to visit the child because there are no local beds available. But for now this family can focus on their kid. It was a blessing. This is because of you all!!!

There are memories we have in our lives that are priceless. Nothing can replace the person we love and miss, but there are still those memories. And beyond that there are just moments in our lives. Moments sometimes get lost in time, but they are not forgotten. The video below has more value to me than any possession I have. It was lost to time for the last 3 years to me. Never did I think that I wouldn't hear this song by Camryn ever again. I always thought she would sing it as an adult and I would have that forever. Thank you Jennifer Howard for being relentless in finding it and thank you Jenny Muniz for digging into your archives and finding a copy. The event is her first public performance as a singer in the Vineland Talent Show 2009-2010. She is accompanied by her big brother Jeremy Tripp. The song is "Let it Be".

The Say Something Foundation is making final arrangements to announce our 3rd Annual Say Something Foundation Trivia Night (hoping for late April). We have been busy collecting for our very popular silent auction the same evening.

If you or someone you know would like to donate a basket or items to make a basket please contact us. We love to partner with local business owners and small privateers trying to make a few dollars. All of our donors will be recognized through social media outlets and during the event. We will also be glad to accept any item you believe would help our cause (sports memorabilia, bobble heads, game giveaways, tickets to events, jewelry you make and sell, any items you make, services you offer, coupons, things around the house that has potential value, all you do-it-yourselfers, etc - anything and everything has a purpose to the potential buyer). We have always tried to be respectful of our business owners and the privateers who are just trying to make a few dollars and not always asking the same people who get asked dozens and dozens of times a year. Many of our business owners have been huge supporters of our foundation and we hope to continue that partnership. Recently we had a donation of some odds and ends items and were able to put together a basket that’s sure to be popular.

Currently we have baskets representing the St. Louis Cardinals and Blues, including game tickets that include Waino and Yadi giveaways. We have wonderful donations from the 1980 Men’s Olympic Gold Medal Hockey team (known as the Miracle on Ice), including autographed items and very rare items donated by collectors of that group.

As we get closer and interest gets higher we will post all items and details. Please share this with anyone who wishes to support us and our community.

Support comes in many forms. Donated items, your hard earned dollar, volunteering, praying for those in need, talking to your boss, and other ways. If you just want to contact us to see a way to help please do! This event allows us to do the work we do for the whole year - direct assistance to those in a struggle with life, Christmas for those who cannot afford basic needs, scholarships to students, lunch money to our volunteers who want to spend a few minutes talking to a person in need, trainings, and more.

PM myself or Shell or text/call 314-520-7103 (Jeff) / 314-623-0164 (Shell)

Thanks in advance and thanks for helping us help others!

Jeff and Shell

For the majority of us we live comfortably. We have a roof over our heads, clean clothes, food, we buy ourselves and our kids whatever we want and whenever we want. I’m not saying we don’t struggle physically, mentally or occasionally financially, but there is always someone worse off.

This year we had the privilege to adopt a family for Christmas. Wow! This experience was very humbling and emotional. On the children’s (actually teenagers) list they wrote, in their own handwriting, what they needed and prioritized them. Our families biggest concern were undergarments, socks, pants, and shirts. In those moments of reading this list I realized how ungrateful I have become. Of course I thank God for what I have, but this was true genuine gratefulness that I’ve taken for granted. We shopped and prayed over this family. The day I dropped off the presents I realized multiple families had not been adopted. Of course, I was taken by emotions again. With Charley standing next to me, I look up and tell him we have to adopt more kids because they cannot go without opening something. So, we adopted two more families.

Because of your generosity throughout the silent auctions and other fundraisers we were able to adopt three families. That means 9 teenagers will wake up tomorrow with three outfits, underwear, socks, bras, makeup, shampoo, conditioner, soap, toys, and candy. We cannot thank you enough for helping us do this. Our hope is next year we can do this again and have volunteers to help us complete this task.

Pictured below is just one set of gifts. Merry Christmas to you all and God bless each and everyone of you as He has our family!
