4th SOCCER WEEKEND!!
Well Spring certainly doesn’t feel like it has come. With morning temperatures starting out in the 30’s it will be a brisk start of the day. Below are a several items to be aware of and consider for Saturday:
GAME SCHEDULE

CHURCH PARTNERSHIP & KONA ICE
Our great friends at First Baptist Church, Community Church of God, and Journey Church will be providing FREE hotdogs and a FREE bounce house Saturday from 9:00-3:00. Please tell them thank you for their generosity and support!
Kona Ice is planned to come this weekend serving many different flavors of shaved ice for purchase Saturday from 9:00-2:00 (Note: Kona Ice may adjust schedule due to colder temps)
SELECT SOCCER
Sunday, 4/10 will be the last try out day for Select/Tournament soccer tryouts. Registration is required to be considered for the team. You can register at http://www.desotomosoccer.org
This season there will be a two-step registration process. The last tryout/practice this Sunday:
FIRST STEP: Tryout/evaluation registration where the coaches will determine number of players, skill level, positions, etc..
SECOND STEP: Once coaches select the players, the parents will be invited to complete the registration and pay for the tournaments and gear.
WEATHER
Please have players dressed appropriately for the weather for the day. Players who are cold don’t play optimally. Wear layers so they can remove layers as they get warmed up.
FIELDS
All parents must stay at least 6 feet way from the field boundaries to provide enough space for players and referees. We also encourage parents to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets to sit on. Please help keep fields clean by picking up anything you bring and if you see any trash, please deposit into trash receptacle. If you find something belonging to someone else, please bring to concessions.

Soccer Parents,
This weekend is the last weekend for Select/Tournament soccer tryouts; therefore, you must register prior to this Sunday’s practice in order to be considered for the team. You can register now at www.desotomosoccer.org
In Select Soccer the objective is to develop players with advanced training and evaluate players for the traveling tournament team. Participation in training is required in order to be considered for the traveling tournament team.
This season there will be a two-step registration process:
FIRST STEP: Tryout/evaluation registration where the coaches will determine number of players, skill level, positions, etc..
SECOND STEP: Once coaches select the players, the parents will be invited to complete the registration and pay for the tournaments and gear.
Even if player is not selected to be on the traveling team, or elects not to attend the tournaments they will be able to participate in training activities.
PRACTICES
Practice schedules will be posted on Facebook, App, and email when possible. Parents will be notified by the division leader for practice schedules. Typically, teams will have at least 1-2 practices during the week. Evaluations/practices start Sunday April 3.
K Sunday Sundays at 1pm then Tuesdays evenings once season ends.
1/2 boys Sundays at 1pm then Tuesdays evenings once season ends.
1/2 girls Sundays at 1pm then Wednesday evenings once season ends.
3/4 boys Sundays at 2pm and Tuesday evenings until season ends then Tuesday/Wednesday evenings.
3/4 girls Sundays at 1pm and Wednesday evenings once season end.
5/6 boys Sundays at 2pm and then Monday/Thursday evenings once season ends.
5/6 girls Sundays at 1pm and then Thursdays evenings once season ends.
7/8 coed Sundays at 2pm and then Thursdays evenings once season ends.
The rough price for tournament teams will be $25 for registration, $25 for each tournament the team participates.

Soccer Parents,
Today we will have Select/Tournament soccer tryouts for ALL Divisions. We strongly encourage you to register today; however, even if you haven’t registered you can still come to tryouts.

We are expecting coaches to have teams selected after next Sundays, 4/9 tryout practice in order to ensure gear can be ordered before the first tournament.

• K Sunday at 1pm @ Soccer Park Field 3 K-3 (Where they play games)
• 1/2 boys Sundays at 1pm @ Soccer Park Field 2A (Where they play games, closest to the playground)
• 1/2 girls Sundays at 1pm @ Soccer Park Field 2C Closest to Entrance (Where they play games, closest to the entrance)
• 3/4 boys Sundays at 2pm @ Soccer Park Field 3
• 3/4 girls Sundays at 1pm @ Soccer Park 1C
• 5/6 boys Sundays at 2pm @ Soccer Park Field 1A (Where they play games, closest to the playground)
• 5/6 girls Sundays at 1pm @ Soccer Park Field 1C (Where they play games, closest to the entrance)
• 7/8 coed Sundays at 2pm @ DeSoto School Athletic Field Turf (High School Football Field) We will be scrimmaging against Farmington

3rd SOCCER WEEKEND!!
We are looking forward to another great weekend of soccer! As the teams starting finding their grove, we continue to ask for your patience and support as we all continue to grow. Coaches can always use assistance, help with the team, or line referee. We all want to see the players develop, have fun, and enjoy the day.

We have heard of some division games not showing up or disappearing in Game Changer. If you have this issue, click the Profile button, Contact Support, and then email [email protected] asking them to resync your schedule.
KONA ICE
We are excited to partner with Kona Ice this weekend who will be serving many different flavors of shaved ice to the league on Saturday from 10:30-2:00

EQUIPMENT & PREP
All players need to have appropriate equipment for games to ensure the safety of themselves and others. Have players go to bathroom before game and have all equipment checked before sending your player to their coach. This includes shin guards (Inside socks), shoes, and plenty of water (with their name on the bottle). No jewelry of any kind (ear rings, watches, rings, etc..), long hair should be in a ponytail or headband. We recommend not giving kids sugary drinks before or during games.
We will have Trade & Swap bin at concessions shed if you have shoes to donate, or would like to look for additional shoes

TRADE/SWAP
If you have unused soccer cleats and shin guards you can bring them to the soccer shed and we will offer them to other players to trade in and swap.
