Parting words from the Executive Director.
After ignoring troubling symptoms and test results for more than a decade, Chicago TV news reporter and endurance athlete Erin Ivory was diagnosed with heart failure. With four kids and a busy work and training schedule, "I thought I was just juggling too much," Erin said. "At no point did I think my life was in jeopardy due to a heart condition."
Erin used to compete in several triathlon events each year. Now she's limited to walking 15 minutes at a time to protect her heart.
Doctors aren't sure what caused Erin's condition but said earlier treatment could have prevented it from becoming serious. "That was hard to swallow, because I knew it was true," she said. "Just because you think you're healthy, listen to your body and get it checked out."
We're grateful to Erin for sharing her story to help others! You can read more about her journey here 👉 http://spr.ly/6183Kg41D
