Recap of the Week:
This has been an eventful week for the rescue. Lots of vet appts. Chance was neutered on Monday. Rocco went to the vet twice this week. Panda went to the vet twice. He finally got his drains removed today. He is taking medications 3x/day still. Chance will be at my house tomorrow, and he is now taking antibiotics because his incision looks infected. 😢 Food orders for the dogs went out, and Rocco was adopted! 🥳 I will be going over applications this weekend. I am hoping to find a foster or adopter for Panda & Duke. 🤞..................................................

"Panda" German Shepherd

✨️Seeking a foster or foster-to-adopt home.✨️

Panda has had quite a journey for the last month or so. He traveled 65 miles away from the location where he was first spotted. There were trappers in Yale, MI trying to catch him, and he managed to come all the way to Davison, MI.

We believe he was clipped by a car when crossing the road. He has since had surgery for the hole in his back leg and he has a cast on his front leg for 3 weeks. He had a hairline fracture in his radius bone, which is why he has a cast. He is expected to make a full recovery once the cast is removed.

I am seeking a foster or foster-to-adopt home for Panda. He is VERY friendly and potty-trained. He has been neutered and dewormed. He is heartworm negative and negative for tick-borne illnesses. He still needs to get vaccinated. The vet had me wait to vaccinate him until the infection in his hind leg is completely gone. All vetting will be paid for by the rescue.

✨️Please share. 🙏 Since this is a Rottweiler rescue, I don't have anyone looking for German Shepherds. I just couldn't take this sweet dog to a shelter because he likely would've been euthanized since he was a medical case.

✨️ Bernie & Bella Update ✨️

The 2 senior Rotties are with their foster mamas now. ❤️

Nicole Hall & Nachelle took them to get baths after they picked them up. They went there to feed them and let them out yesterday since we didn't have kennels for night time yet. They bought them food & toys. They are the absolute BEST! Thank you so much for taking care of these sweet babies while their owner is away.

Thank you Veronica for letting them borrow the cages. ❤️

Bernie & Bella are extremely bonded & sweet. They let them enter the home without any issues. Good babies............................

Another update: Turns out, Bernie is too big for a 48" kennel. So, they will have their own bedroom. 🤣

UPDATE: The dogs have been let out and fed. We are trying to find another 48" kennel. Does anyone have one who is close to Warren? We just need to borrow it until their owner get back.

🙏SEEKING TEMPORARY FOSTER(S) FOR 2 SENIOR ROTTIES FOR 25 DAYS 🙏

I just got off the phone with a lady who is currently in a rehab program for the next 25 days. She paid someone $400 to go to her house twice a day to feed her dogs & let them out. Well, she just found out that the person backed out and decided they weren't going to do it. Her 2 Rotties have been there for 4 days, now going on 5 days, with no food, water, or the ability to use the bathroom outside. This woman is distraught. She can't leave her rehab program early. She does not want to get rid of her dogs.

✨ ️I either need someone in the Warren area to go to her house to feed them -OR- someone willing to take them in temporarily until the owner gets out of rehab. ✨️

🖤🤍 Panda's surgery went really well. He has a drain, a cast, and he was neutered. Thank you to whoever called in the $200 to the Vet's office and thank you to everyone else who donated towards his care. In total, we raised $556.87. The total was $1,751. So, this depleted the rescue's funds. We are in a tough situation now because Chance is also getting neutered on Monday. Please share so we can get more help. 🙏

❗️UPDATE ❗️

Panda is currently at Heritage Veterinary Hospital in Flint, MI.

He is not microchipped and no owner has come forward since the beginning of May.

He is heartworm NEGATIVE and does NOT have any Tick-borne illnesses. (I will test him again in 3 months to be sure about the Tick-borne illnesses.) 🙏

They did x-rays and he has a fracture down the center of his radius on his front leg. Luckily, his ulna is still intact, which has helped stabilize his leg and prevented the radius from snapping completely in half. This is the easiest break that we could have hoped for. So, they are able to cast that leg and surgery is not needed to repair it. A complete miracle! 🙏

However, Panda's hind leg does require surgical repair to clean up that wound. He will have a drain placed to help get some of that infection out of there. Since he is being put under anesthesia for that, they are also going to neuter him today.

The grand total for everything is $1,751, which includes any x-rays during his recovery, along with his pain meds & antibiotics. I think that is an extremely fair price for everything to get taken care of for him.
