I was just remembering what an uplifting experience it was to play with Carter Albrecht. He was new to the bass, but had in his head some great melodic ideas. When he tried for a phrase on a gig and missed, he gave out a mirthful laugh, which made me and Jeff feel as if we were all just surfing or something of the sort. He was having so much fun exploring the tune and what he could do with it. I value my time with him deeply. He was so much fun to play with because he was open to all possibilities.
