🌱 June is National Family Unification Month! Safe and secure relationships are foundational to infant mental health. Whenever possible, we hope to avoid complete removal and separation of the family unit within the child welfare system.
🧑🧒 Our Safe Babies program advocates for the preservation of the caregiver-child relationship by fostering co-parenting relationships, providing education and technical assistance, coordinating care, and conducting continuous program evaluations.
When child welfare professionals, caregivers, and community partners come together with compassion and a shared vision, we can ensure infants and toddlers in the child welfare system have consistent, nurturing relationships that support healing and development. Together, we have the power to repair relationships, restore hope, and reverse the trauma of separation—one parent-child connection at a time 💚
