Rockwall Memorial Day Concert

Sadly, the City of Rockwall has chosen to produce its own, much simpler Memorial Day Concerts in 2015 & 2016, using only local talent, fewer songs and no presentations. Please do not confuse their concert with ours, which we may bring back again in 2017.

Tribute to a Fallen Soldier: Spc. Jonathan "JD" Emard Army Spc. Jonathan David Arthur Emard gave his life on June 4, 2008, defending his country, his friends and his family.

Whitney Vinson Rosenbalm, the star & co-star of numerous Dallas-Ft. Worth musicals, was amazing as she sang the Judy Garland hit that was so popular with our troops overseas during WWII, "Somewhere Over The Rainbow," at the Rockwall Memorial Day Concert May 25, presented by TheRockwallNews.com. Judy couldn't have sung it any better! Behind her is the superb Air National Guard Band of the Southwest from Ft. Worth.

Award-winning Rockwall High School junior Jessica Brunson has a beautiful voice and is well on her way to a professional singing career. Last night at the Rockwall Memorial Day Concert, presented by TheRockwallNews.com, she sang Pie Jesu, which is a prayer asking Christ to grant eternal rest to the souls of those who have died, specifically our fallen soldiers. We hope she will return again next year!

We are so extremely thankful to Michelle, Glenn & the entire Thurgood family for all the work you did behind the scenes last night to help us put on our highly-successful Rockwall Memorial Day Concert! Glenn & his Boy Scout sons carried nearly 150 chairs and several tables from the Hilton Hotel to the stage & back - plus helped Michelle and their other children to plant hundreds of flags all over the amphitheater area.
